Hi Folks. Just got back from a fantastic camping weekend at a Country show at Althorp. Weather was brilliant and the show was great. Earl Spencer was around the show, met up again with old friends from years ago who had the dog in the TV series Heartbeat and then her successor which was really nice. Charlotte they lived in Manchester for a while. My Whippet was in the main arena chasing a lure and won and my old girl of 11 came in second. ANd now I have been asked also to judge a show in Hampshire next month, do All in all it was the bestest break Ive had in ages. Hope this didnt bore you to much.

Yes Im having the same trouble with the postings and its very very slow, One time couldnt get on here at all.

Its the people that lived in Manchester that owned the dogs that were on heartbeat in the first few series.

Yes I have lots, too many, but they are all my pets, all rescued and I take them to shows to promote the type of dogs they are, mainly greyhound and lurchers because there are far too many in rescue.

Wow seaslug that's lovely that you rescue these beautiful dogs. I was only made aware of this particular problem a few months back. I live in a flat at the moment and have one rescue cat who is gorgeous but when I move to a house I will have at least two rescue dogs. It's a great feeling to give them a home and some happiness and most of all, some love, after they have been so poorly treated.

"They've only come in for a warm!"
"Sittin' on the bog smokin' yer woodies and readin' yer paper!"
"Never mind 'aahh' - wait til yer see 'im draggin' a pensioner round the stage by the hem of 'er mac!" Big Grin
"Yer not only barkin' up the wrong tree, yer in the wrong forest"
"He's full of 'imself. He's just 'ad a dust up in the corridor with the Blue Peter dog. Seriously. Slaughtered it!" Big Grin

Thats really nice of you. Ive been rescuing for roughly 20 years now, owned dogs for 35 years. Ive taken them from rescue centres some in very bad way and brought them back to health and vitality. Some you cant help I have one here now so badly treated no one can touch him but he loves me to bits. Its rewarding but very very hard work and its only me and other half we are not a rescue centre. They are all our pets and we are proud of them. and I try in my own way to promote the rescue dog, thats one of the reasons why I like Paul. I have no interest in his stardom but that he uses it to promote rescue dogs and of course I like him for his wit charm and sense of humour.

You always say the nicest of things and its appreciated cos we do try and help these animals and a lot of the time people think you are mad for doing it.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend seaslug. Its lovely to hear you recue so many dogs. I would love to but I can't because I live in a rented flat, bu as soon as I own my own house it will also become a home for rescue dogs. Charlotte is right, you should be very proud of yourself. Big Grin
