Aww thanks. It's a year this October so nowhere near as long as you. It doesn't matter how long ago a death was you still miss them don't you? Well more as time goes on.

Sorry I missed your posting too O grady and sorry to hear your news. Its always hard to lose a family member especially of another generation. My nans died when I was 10 and 16 and I never really got to ask them anything cos kids then were meant to be quiet and not inquisitive or that is what was thought if you asked too many awkward questions which I did as a KId. Yes its regrettable isnt it but at least you have fond memories of him and not all old folk seem to want to talk about the old days I find.
Take care, Speak later.

My Nan died the same year as my Grandad. The day before Christmas Eve. So we really weren't in the mood for Christmas. She lived in Wales and we're in Anglia and we knew she was ill so the night we were going to travel up to see her we found out she had passed away.

Yeah, I'm not living in the past or whatever and wishing this and that and regretting things. These things happen as you say and it is sad but they wouldn't want you upset all the time.

Thanks, that's what my Mum says, that I'm wise for my age. And that's lovely about your son. A lovely Christmas present.

I suddenly I thought about a few more things for this thread.
For a start the fashions.Black and White, called Op Art. Had to wear checked black and white dresses with little collars and with white tights to be fashionble, Tights came in,thanks to Mary Quant. Then there was of course the mini skirts, well pelmets as my dad called them, and the white boots, oh how lovely. Anoraks. another craze. All teenagers had one. Blue they were and had to have a red inner lining on the hood. A bunch of anoraks, hee hee. Then there was the reefer jacket had to have those brass buttons. Progressing onto leather and suede coats (Mod era) and mohair. I saved up my hard earned salary for a month to buy my first mohair suit and I loved it. To follow that was the skinheads. I wore jeans and boots and braces very fetching for a female. Ha Ha. Sorry Folks, Just thought youd like a laugh.
Also the trend for names of groups of youngsters such as Beatniks, followed by Mods and Rockers, then Skinheads. Punks of course, by I was too old by then for that.

LOL here Goddess, How feminine were we eh. Hee Hee. I was always a tomboy from being very young. Havent changed much in later life either. Well I was brought up all around boys. The boots were the original doc martins, had a boyfriend too, who dressed like that, my mother hated him and the fashions. Do you remember sitting in the bath to shrink the levis too. Oh happy days.

Yes white tights, white eyeshadow plastered on, thick black eyeliner and panstick on the lips. How boys fancied us, heaven knows. Oh and forgot the hair. Backcombed and so stiff with all the hairspray.

I really did laugh when I read that, yes I do and to make matters worse you really scrubbed the brush into the mucky mix.
I also remember my mother wiping my mouth with a hanky that she had just licked to wipe a mucky mouth. Oh dear and I still see that sometimes to day. How unhygenic. hee hee.
