I've not been coming on here long but everyone is really lovely and welcoming. Its only certain individuals who try to upset the apple cart now and again, I wouldn't normally have said anything but ...its a forum... and its a really nice forum and i don't like damn right nastiness !

Hi ya folks, normally I would agree with some of the things but I was out in a violent storm in a tent at the weekend and boy I do not want to experience that again in a hurry.

So sit and Ill shell tell yee a story. Hee Hee. Trying to be in a country accent now. Seriously it wasnt funny though. Anyway;

The clouds darkened, the rain fell, the rumbling started and the lightening. I was in the tent at the time and some of my dogs in the van. One made a sound never heard before of a low rumble noise, dogs are very sensitive to storms. There was this strange whooshing noise,and the trees were swaying, the rain was beating down getting heavier and heavier. Anyway this went on for about 2 and half hours. I got bored with it as I wanted to go around the show. When it had finished, it turned out that the some of the stalls which were out in the middle of the ground had been lifted right up in the air, someone lost thousands of pounds of goods and a lot of traders packed up and went home. Someone even saw a wooden bench being lifted and it was thrown against a car apparently. How no one was hurt is anyones guess. When there was just about horses, dogs, and other livestock there. So we were all very lucky. It was a very severe storm that had ripped up stuff in its path and I count myself very lucky that we were protected by the trees. Not that you should usually be anywhere near trees in a storm. So there you go. Not always a good idea to be out in a storm.

Hi ya, Yes youre right Charlotte. Someone told me that too, its cos the vehicle has rubber tyres and is grounded I think so lightening cannot conduct through it. Whatever people have been struck by lightening so its not a good idea to be out in it if you can avoid it. I have to say its not the first time Ive been caught out in a very violent storm, they are frightening to say the least.

Anyway hope you are ok. Hopefully can get on here a bit more for a few days then away again here there and everywhere.
