TV chat show king Paul O’Grady has been offered a staggering £16 million to leave Channel 4 for Sky One.
His current contract runs out at the end of the year and according to reports Sky ciefs have already put their bid on the table.
It would mean him netting £666,000 a show for 24 episodes.
Paul, who lives at Aldington near Ashford, said: “I’m flattered, gobsmacked, amazed. I can’t believe people are interested in me.”
The deal would make Paul, from Aldington, Britain’s third highest paid TV star behind Simon Cowell and Jonathan Ross.
A Channel 4 source added: “We have been hearing rumours about this.
“Paul’s people will make a decision in the summer, but Paul does work well in the 5pm slot on Channel 4.
Sky to poach O'Grady from C4?
Sky One has refused to comment on reports that Paul O'Grady has been offered a whopping £16 million to move to the channel.
It seems the TV presenter's contract with C4 runs out at the end of the year - and Sky are so keen to snap up the TV favourite that they have already put their offer in, according to The Sun.
Paul told the paper: "I'm flattered, gobsmacked, amazed. I can't believe people are interested in me."
The 51-year-old is still on track to make two series of his show by the end of the year.
However, Sky's deal - for just 24 episodes - would also see him produce the show that he presents, the paper reports, which would make the camp star the third highest-paid TV star behind Simon Cowell and Jonathan Ross.

I really really hope he doesnt move, just the thought if not being able to watch the show is awful

Yeah it would be awful, but if he does and we don't have Sky I guess we'd have to get on with it. They know Paul is so popular and has a loyal fanbase, so if he did move I suppose a lot of fans would switch to Sky so they would get more money.
Yeah but it would be such a shame though cos i wont be getting Sky cos my mum wants to keep Virgin Media so that means after being such a big fan and going as far as running on stage to meet him it'l be weird to not be able to watch him again Its hard to explain what i mean but at the end of the day its his choice and if he goes to Sky one then its tuff, i'l just have to not watch it anymore unfortunatly.

Yeah it would be a real shame. I've seen the POG show since ITV so that's over 2 years, so it would be strange not seeing it anymore. But let's see what happenes.

Yep we'll have to wait and see i suppose. I'l be really disapointed if he goes, im not being mean or anything but the fans have made him as sucessful as he is now, if it wasnt for the fans then their wouldnt be a show so i just really hope he considers the fans.
