O'Grady is dragless queen

CHAT SHOW king Paul has finally packed in the fags — after a caring fan sent him “disgusting” herbal cigs.
The Lily Savage star, who had a second heart attack this summer, revealed the ‘cure’ as he returned to the spotlight.
He told TV Biz: “She said smoking them would help me quit.
“She wasn’t wrong - they were absolutely f****** disgusting. They stank my house out and I thought, that’s it, I’m never smoking again.”
Paul, who was collecting a Ten Years at the Top gong at a TV awards, added: “This time I think I’ve cracked it. I haven’t touched one for weeks — and funny enough I don’t miss them. I feel fantastic.”
Clutching a glass of champagne, he said he even has the odd “medicinal” drink.
But Paul also has blood tests “every other day” as his heart attack was very serious. He added: “My doctor keeps telling me I should have died by all accounts.
“They’ve got me on this blood-thinning drug warfarin. It’s horrid because I’ve got massive bruises up my arms.”
Scouser Paul, 51, said his heart trouble was not all down to the fags.
He explained: “It’s genetic. My mother and sister never smoked or drank and they died of heart disease, so you know I inherited it.”
He said he never thought he would die, adding: “I’ve looked death in the face a few times and said, ‘On yer bike’.” Of the pills he takes, he joked: “I’m on so many that when I drop dead my coffin will have a child-proof lid.”
One downside was that his sex life had taken a knock.
Paul is now writing his autobiography and his Channel 4 show returns this month. He said: “I can’t wait.”
He wished Sharon Osbourne luck with her rival ITV1 show.
But he took a pop at his former ITV employers, joking: “Thank you for letting me get on that last lifeboat that left the Titanic.”
