Aside from the fact that C4 is apparently now so hard-up for ideas that it simply buys up the opposition's programming, another thought concerning the O'Grady show just hit me.

C4's Richard And Judy Show used to run at the same time as the ITV O'Grady show. Therefore Richard & Judy's viewers chose to view R&J because they had no interest in O'Grady. So Channel 4 replaces the R&J show with a show which viewers in that time slot previously chose to avoid? The obvious logic here is that C4 bought the O'Grady show purely as a way of stealing O'Grady's ITV viewers, not as a piece of programming aimed with any consideration at R&J viewers.

To then schedule the O'Grady show so it runs at exactly the same time as the ITV version is nothing but an insult to the viewers, and is actually a breach of Channel 4's remit to provide an alternative programming schedule to other channels. Infact, you could probably lodge a complaint with the IBA concerning that.

I for one won't even waste my time doing taking such a course of action. Quite simply, Channel 4 just lost me as a primetime viewer.

Firstly, ITV FORGOT to renew his contract so C4 and BBC nipped in there and offered Paul contracts, he chose to go to C4, he wasn't 'bought' like football managers buy players!

and second it was ITV who decided to run the reruns at the same time of his new show, they did the same trick with Trisha when she moved to C5, although it worked on Trisha i think, people actually tuned into her reruns!!
but i dont think it'll work with Paul Wink

LIVE AT 5 ON 4(not a repeat!)

by Paul being on Channel four he reaches a Wider audience as the show wasnt shown in Ireland North or South when It was on ITV as we had our own programmes to show at that time

It was ITV that ran the repeats to be petty.
So what if they lose you as a viewer, which I always think is hilarious as you are more than likely lieing. As if Channel 4 are gonna lose any sleep over one viewer defecting.

Well - I have to say that I can't believe Channel 4 have replaced Richard & Judy with Paul O'Grady!

What were they thinking of?

Did they really think that R & J viewers woud enjoy this? As has already been pointed out, we watched R & J RATHER than watch Paul O'Grady on Channel 3. Now to add insult to injury - we have no choice! Repeats of P O'G on Channel 3 too. AAAAAAGH!

I hope Channel 4 think again and bring back R & J before they lose all their tea-time viewers. . . . .

Channel 4 wanted Paul O'Grady because R&J were loosing out to him on teatime ratings, they didn't want the competition.
