hi everyone, i just wanted to tell you about my evening out last night..i met up with some old friends, i have been keeping in touch via email etc, but i haven't been able to meet up because of the usual reasons - too busy with work, famillies etc as well as the fact that they all live quite some distance from me!
it was really nnice to catch up properly and show off more pics etc, and we had a great time propping up the bar, talking over the really loud music - i was drinking water bcos i was driving! Eek
i know that this is a totally different subject, but in a few weeks time we are going to be seeing an 'old friend' again after a few months or so - i was wondering about friends in general - old and new...i haven't seen these people for 3 - 4 years! how do you feel about your mates? have you lost touch with any of them - i.e. old school mates that you swore you would always keep in touch with?
i had a best mate at school, and i felt that we would always stay in touch because my mum lost touch with her best mate from school soon after leaving! i lost touch with my 'best mate' soon after my 1st son was born.
do they make you laugh or cry? Big Grin Frown
no names needed, i am just being nosey...i feel bad when i don't get to see any of my old friends because i actually find it hard to make new ones - unless im on the internet of course! - present company included - lol!

this is a long post - sorry! Eek

btw, my mate, who lives in leeds, told me that he has met Paul and Will Young!
he said he had a drink with Will!
he also said that Paul and Will, (he met them at seperate times though), are both really nice and down to earth and friendly - as you can expect, lol!!

Ive kept in contact with most of my friends from school, but have just lost contact with one of my 'really good friends' through choice. I actually thought she was a friend and it turns out she definately wasnt. What a waste, but all my other friends i know are they for me and they think ive done the right thing. I would be lost without my friends lol!

I had a best friend in year 9 and we were best mates for about 3 years but it felt like longer and we did everything together, we went out most school nights and it was such a laugh and then one day everything just changed cos she got a boy friend, she stopped hanging around with me as much and the lad she was going out with was a right dead head, he was into allsorts like stealing cars and doing drugs and stuff and he got her into drugs and we just drifted appart, she completely changed. Then later she found her boyfriend in bed with another girl and she dumped him and tried running back to me but i wasnt having any of it, ive got my other 2 best mates and i dont need her.

I think if you move area's you loose touch unless you are a good letter writer or emailer that is if there is a computer in your home and texting has made it easier now.

personally I enjoy emailing and writing letters and texting so I keep contact with those who want to keep contact if you know what I mean. Smile

i think that one of the reasons why i lost touch with my 'my best mate', was because i didn't find the time to sit dowsn and write actual letters. i loved getting hers, although she did talk constantly about someone that she was supposed to be forgetting about!!
i always though of what i was going to write back, but i never had the time - or made the time - and i regret that really...but i do find things a lot easier with emails etc...weird that, eh?

i do agree with you lizina - but i want to try and find my mum.s best mate from school - in time for her 60th - next july! i have a rough idea of where she is - so you never know.
people move on all of the time. i mean, i hadn't seen my mate from leeds in 3 years! but we still had lots to talk about though - it was just catch up of course - and it all seems so weirs when everyone has gone into different routines in their lives but they can still meet up and chat as if time had stood still a bit..you know what i mean?
it isn't like that for everybody though of course...
