Aww that reli sad, it breaks my heart to see homeless dogs, its so nice of u to take it in ur house n feed n water it Jan, sounds like u doin a great job. I reli hope the rspca cn take the dog in n if they cnt then at least i hpe they cn put u in the right direction of sumwhere that will take it. the little dog was as good as gold overnight,not a peep out of him..unlike me who stayed awake most of the night waiting for him to start howling or whining..
this morning a friend gave me the number of a local dog kennels where the lady was very helpful..she said due to the rules and regs HERE WE GO AGAIN ON THOSE DRATTED RULES AND REGS..no animal rescue centre including the dogs trust or the rspca will take a stray dog off a normal person as they cant now due to the law..she said their kennels have taken in strays before and have ended up with the previous owners taking them to court and involving the police.. for dog napping..how stupid is that..
she told me the only way to do it is to contact the local council which will put you in contact with the dog warden for your area..they will then take the dog off you..from there it will be taken to a vet to check for microchipping
and a quick health check..only then can they take it too a rescue centre cos its all been done through the proper channels..
so little doggie got picked up by the dog warden about 11 00am this morning..
i really hope they manage to find the owner it was such a sweet little dog and it broke my heart to have to let it go..
its name was pepsi..it was faintly written inside its collar..but no address though..
hoping it all ends happily for the little mite..
i am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for it..

It is very sad when dogs leave their owners for one reason or another. I use to snob my eyes out when Animal Hospital came on every week. I hope Pepsi find his correct owners or a loving home.

Mind you when the homeless dogs come on with Paul and guests, some of the stories, it is shocking what these dogs go through - and they still want to give love and affection.

Its really nice what you did taking that stray dog in hope it finds a nice home soon i know animals can be a pain but i could never hurt all abandon any.

I have just read about the homeless dogs and sadly the had to put the st bernard down.

Yea it did there's a copy of wat it said for u Em...
Quite sadly Henry has been put to sleep. There was huge interest in him, and they were down to three choices to choose between. Before he was to be rehomed however they were due to neuter him and when the vet examined him they discovered the arthritis in his legs was far worse than they imagined and he required a great deal of surgery that it was thought he would not survive. On top of this they also discovered he had heart disease too. RIP Henry.

Poor Henry, at least he is at rest now, St Bernards are not cheap to keep either. Thanks for the info Maria.

That is such a shame he was a lovely dog. But we don't like to see animals suffer so probably the best thing they did for him.
