In answer to your question, I think it's because he's got out of his contract but will still appear on ITV on temporary basis. From what I read there's a lot of bad blood, but you never know with papers.
Oh and he will only appear in the evening so he's still kind of banned on daytime!
Sorry, what I meant was that ITV had apparently banned all of it's stars from appearing on Paul's new show however two ITV stars appeared as guests on his first show (though I suppose Ross Kemp and Melanie Sykes aren't tied down to ITV exclusively. It'll be interesting to see if he manages to get any Corrie stars on)
wel if thats true then theres only one word 2 describe it then CHILDISH because its up 2 the stars if they want 2 appear on this fantastic show a brilliant first show back last night
We never got his show At Home in Northern Ireland when it was on ITV, as we had some northern Irish Cr@p. But I hear that the Channel four is showing it there as they never change their schedules for regions

Ahhh- I thought you meant POG was still within contract (sorry it was late!)
That all sounds like tabloid talk. All chat shows like first choice of guests, so pressure is brought to bear to ensure that one goes here or there (this happened between O'Grady's show and Richard and Judy), but it can't be binding unless it's in the contract, and it can't be in the contract (because it's restriction of trade) unless it's a 'golden handcuffs' deal, and they are dying out. Most actors are technically freelance - Ross Kemp, for example, is contracted to the BBC for certain projects, but outside of them he can do what he likes. Paul O'Grady, I believe, is only contracted to C4 for his teatime show - there's nothing legal to stop him from appearing on any ITV show. It's just that neither party currently wants to work with the other.
