To show the worst of the worst I will use free play as an example. I prefer playing for money in torneys myself but like to practice on the free tables too.
I have used most websites but took a trip to planet poker free tables. it is by far the worse standard of poker i have ever seen. people calling all ins with nothing on the blind. betting on just about anything and calling on anything. no skill involved at all.
i think if they introduced a system like poker stars where you can only top up your free money 3 times in a hour they may get a better standard of poker being played.
I think that trying to judge the quality of poker players from their play at free play tables is like judging the quality of a soccer player playing on an ice rink.
Of course people bet anything in free play. It's because it's free. You'll see much the same in the early stages of a freeroll tourny, or a $1 SNG. Anyone with any sense can use this to their advantage, taking a long-term view.

All free roll is pretty poor, even at the highest limits. You'd be better off practicing at the micro-stake tables at somewhere like Poker Stars- even the 1c tables can be pretty decent. Alternatively the free roll S&Gs at Stars are very good from the $10,000 buy-in upwards. The 2,000 tourneys can also be good once they get going.

lol at this thread , how the hell can you expect a good standard of play in a freeroll or a playmoney table . its very simple , players playing at this level of play will not fold there hand after committing a few hundred chips in pot .99% of players at these tables have not got a clue about odds , they will throw it all in regardless . as 4 bluffing , forget it !!! u cannot bluff bad players !!! they will call with any pair and any draw . these tables will not teach you anything . you are much better off putting in 10 or 20 pound in your account or watever u can afford and playing $1 tourns , the standard wont be a whole lot better but it will be slightly as ppl are now playing with real money and will be a little more careful . good luck with your quest !!
