Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and Mrs Eyre wasn't preaching that just because she doesn't like Carter, we shouldn't either. She was just giving her opinion on it.

As for Kem- I know I have always been an avid hater but but I'm quite looking forward to seeing the whole Kisangani storyline again to see if I was wrong about her- since seeing Crash I have warmed more to Thandie Newton. I just didn't think Carter and Kem had any chemistry; we were just supposed to believe that she was his perfect woman, we never actually saw it.
Oh I am calm alright. Mrs Eyre took exception to the original poster referring to Kem as a dog. All I did was agree with them. This has been enough of a "back-up" to get their back up. I also pointed out that Mrs Eyre probably COULDN'T write a book, like they stated, on why they didn't like Carter. I saw that as an over-exaggeration. If you wish to prove me wrong then please do co-write a book and I promise to buy it. As I stated in my previous post, we have to agree to disagree on the fact that some liked Carter and others didn't. Fair? (This seems to have been over-looked by this blinkered outlook towards me). If you wish to keep on getting angry enough at me that you want to tell me to calm down and stop getting tetchy, then feel free.

Raging you do know, don't you that "I could write a book" is simply a (not uncommon) way of saying that one could provide chapter and verse, at length, on a subject? I'm sorry, I hadn't really expected anyone here to be so literal minded.
And I'm not clear how what I said speaks to any failure to agree to disagree; the post to which I responded asked how one could not love Carter; I was suggesting that some of us might have any number of reasons. I don't believe that I overlooked anything at all.
I didn't like Kem, hold no brief for her; but the use of the term "dog" for her seems to me to be mysoginistic in the extreme, as it is usually applied to an unattractive or morally lax woman, hence my taking exception.
I'm at a bit of a loss to understand what point it is that you are trying to make.

Abby is still my favourite chahrcter. She has been my favourite since I started watching and ALL the way through I have never went toff of her! And TPTB realise she is fantastic! That's why she is still here after the shafting of so many main characters! I'm not happy about the way Susan was kicked out though, that will leave a hole...*sniff*

hey i like him! i think he is one of the better characters of recent years....
i personally like carter AND luka and abby for that matter... i think that they are all so different that i couldn't compare them... like i said at the moment luka and abby are my favourite characters... (although i also know that abby is not a popular choice because many peopel dislike her, but that's ok, each to their own) i think carter was a sweet guy and a good character but i did strongly dislike kem... though i wouldn't go as far as calling her a dog...
of course if we're talking all time. no one could ever replace doug or carol. and mark was great too! as were benton and romano. i used to really like sam btu i realise now that the writers don't really know what to do with her now that they are not trying to pair ehr up or keep her with luka, especially since they got tid of that lovely young actor who played alex...

I really, really miss Carter, because I love Noah Wyle, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thandie Newton has just won a BAFTA for her role in Crash so she is hardly regarded by most people as a Dog (I agree Mrs Eyre - Horrible mysoginist word). I didn't think the Carter /Kem thing always worked, and also Handsome as Goran is, there is no comparison IMO between him and George Clooney who has looks and charisma and is a true star.
Who do I like now? Well Neela and Sam and Pratt in the main characters, but Dubenko, I think is the most intereasting and yes, I'd forgotten about Jerry. How could I? He's still wonderful Jerry
Because I don't like slagging people off, I just leave out those characters I don't like. You can work it out if you want, but I don't hate any of the present characters. I just find some of them boring.

My fave character now has to be Abby, I love the way MT delivers her sarcastic one liners, teh compassion showed this weeks eppy is typically Abby and there is no one else there (in my opinion) that could show as much as her. We have seen the character develop the most out of the lot of them form when she was a nurse, ex hubby, med school, Carter, her mom and bro, alcoholism, etc i just think out of all teh chracters TPTB have developed hers the most. hence I feel i know her more than the others.
My fave phwoar character now Carter has gone is Luka. how I wish i was MT doing that scene with him tonight *goes off into own dream world, just me and Goran*

However...I love Abby too...she's just so sarcastic...she makes me laugh. Just watched a Channel4 repeat...she had me laughing all the way!
