i really dont wanna sound mean but her character has always annoyed me shes really rude and has no respect whatsoever like last season when she said to neela that gates only wanted to sleep with her and used her and the way she talks to gates and to her mum (when she was alive, even if her mum was a bitch) was so unrespectful, and now in this season when she was having the sleepover the way she talked to him
Hehe! I know what you mean, but i get the feeling that Sarah is going to get better this season and become a nicer character. It looks like Gates and Sam are getting interested in each other so maybe Sarah will get together with Alex!! Fireworks aplenty if they do!!
It'd be OK if Gates, Sam, Newlex and Sarah were all under one roof and that roof never appeared on the show.
I thnk the girl playing Sarah (Chloe Greenfield?) is very good and some of Gates's less aggravating scenes have been with her. Unfortunately I don't care even a little bit about Gates or his love life or his living arrangements; ditto Sam; ditto Newlex.
If Sam and Gates are the future of the show I may not be able to hang on until the end.

been through a war (see Kovac, Luka); new arrival who is cocky and arrogant (see Pratt, Greg; Carter, John; Barnett, Ray; Morris, Archie)
he carries out procedures he shouldn't and doesn't see what's wrong with it and sounds off at his superiors (see Carter, John; Pratt, Greg)
he uses his fists to demonstrate his righteous indignation (see Kovac, Luka, although I think Gates has already biffed someone more often than Luka)
he is (unaccountably IMO) irresistable to the female of the species (see Ross, Doug)
he has "issues" with his deadbeat dad (see Ross, Doug)
I was also resistant to the character because of the way he was bigged up at the expense of others, trumpeted as the saviour of ER (yeah, right). Stamos went along with it, although personally I believe he was being ironic.
Tme has been spent on him that I think would have been better spent on others. For example, in "I Don't", I really didn't need to hear him whining about Meg - wouldn't it have been so much nicer to have had that time spent on, say, the nurses? An out of the ER episode gives a rare opportunity for that sort of thing.
I've actually quite liked his scenes with Sarah, but his interaction with the other characters at the hosptal - the ones that should really work - has left me well and truly cold. For me he doesn't work as a character in the ER; his scenes with Sarah could just as easily be part of an entirely different show.
Phew, Mrs. Eyre,good explanation, very comprehensive. I suppose cos i really liked Ross and Gates is very similar that i like the character. Also i'd never heard of John Stamos before er and i don't know anything about him or seen him in anything else so to me he's just a nice bit of eye candy!! I think here in England er doesn't get as much media coverage as other countries (are you in the US?) and there are a lot of shows that we haven't had. I was amazed to find out he's 44 as well, i thought he was about 30! Anyway, thanks for your reply,
I'm not in the US but do read and post at a couple of ER boards where a number of interviews with him and about him were posted. I'd never seen him in anything other than a couple of made for TV films of the type that fetch up on C5 in the afternoons. 'Nuff said.
He also disgraced himself whilst appearing on a talk show in Australia when he was over there promoting the show - he was either drunk or high (or both) and made some very inappropriate comments and gestures. Not ever so endearing.

Haha, yes, sexyoaks, that was my reaction too, i think he must have a rotting picture in an attic somewhere! (like Dorian Gray). Apparently he's been around for years!!
I don't like Sarah either, but am quite fond of the idead of Gates and Sam getting together.. they would make a good couple in my opinion.
Anyone heard about the Maura/John rumor? APPARENTLY... they are an item now (as her and her husband have divorced) and they are rumored to be dating and have been spotted together.. but everything these days is just gossip so it's probably all bullcrap.

Yes, not every woman has the morality of a puff adder. However simulating sexual activity with a good looking man sounds like a nice perk. I wouldn't object to that I guess.
I don't see it as being about morality as such (consenting adults and all that); more about the complete inability of the press (largely) and some fans to imagine that men and women can actually like each other without it meaning they're shagging each other.
So yes, first Maura is doing Goran (well she got a divorce! must mean something!) and now she's seen smiling with Stamos she needs must be doing him. Let's hope she's not snapped with whoever it is that plays Harold.
Agree with what you are saying. What I meant was that a single woman or someone who's relationship is in trouble/going through divorce, must be sleeping with every remotely good looking man she is seen with. I' sure there are woman like that but I don't think Maura is one of them. Furthermore I don't think she would be sleeping with a co-star who is married and in the process of adopting. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I think that would be very wrong. ( And I definately don't think she is sleeping with Stamos just because he is divorced )
