Hi everyone! Erm. This may seem random, but hey, it is the thread for all questions so here goes: is chronic kidney disease the same as chronic renal failure? As am confused!!! Help much much appreciated!! Thankyou xxx

"I don't know what it is with people out there, all this sex, sex, sex stuff. But I don't think making love on screen is sexy for me or for anybody watching. So, if it's okay with everyone I shall keep my clothes on. I am not a striptease artist."
"Hunk? I don't know anything about hunk...When I first started being asked about that two years ago, I played dumb - 'Honk, vot does that mean? The thing on the wheel of a car, honk-honk?'"
Aww, bless him! :-)

Renal failure is the end result of chronic kidney disease. Failure is failure, I'm not sure it can be chronic.

sure it can. failure can happen over a period of time, gradually getting worse... CRF (chronic renal failure) can be managed with anything from no treatment at all (and just watching), through extensive drug treatment, to dialysis and transplantation for those with ESRF (endstage renal failure)or it can happen suddenly, over days or even hours... ARF (acute renal failure) can result from an acute insult to the kidneys, including toxins, a period of drop in blood pressure, severe blood loss from a wound injury...in fact, ive just had a guy go into ARF over the last few days, following a total hip replacement done last week. he became confused and disorientated over last weekend and he hadnt peed since his operation. then his creatinine (an indicator of renal function) shot up to over 800 from normal during the course of tuesday, so i stuck a urine catheter in and got out about 20 million gallons of urine stat. his creatinine has come back down to normal again today, so the cause for his ARF was simply urinary retention. only thing is, hes still confused, which is a major bummer. any ideas? similar pictures also with pretty much every organ: acute heart failure/chronic heart failure, delirium (acute brain)/dementia (chronic brain), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/acute airways obstruction (asthma attack) and so on.
whats with these donut holes? hmm...

Whoa, guys. I just dropped by to check out if there was any more news on expanding tablet flannels (I know! My quest is still not complete.) and it's all Chas and Jem and Clare and Mona... just like the old days. And good work, Clare, plugging the ol' HMV. ******************************************* *** Hector the disgruntled tortoise was actually quite a happy tortoise until he was hit by a bus *** Honorary Member of the Hector Fan Club

see, youre missing out jade, you just know you should be here with us! the reason why there has been no progress on the flannel front is that there arent any available to buy in britain. i looked for you too at the time, but nothing. youll just have to put other things in water and watch them expand into a more acceptable size it would seem. you do know that there are things to do that are considered more fun than watching towels expand in water right? still, whatever floats your boat...
