ah i was watching old will and grace episodes on tv when i was babysitting someone who had lots of channels. i forgot just how great it is - i must buy the early seasons, before the writers tried to make it have a real storyline rather than just hilarity.

when i get days off, i watch will and grace at 9am...and then Nikki after it, but if not, i tape it...

I went to Valencia for the day and my god was it expensive!! Its a gorgeous city but very very busy! We were there during the siesta times and even then it was heaving. I know someone who moved out there with her hubby and two kids for two years to work, they moved back to Britain last year because they couldn'afford to live there anymore. They would have been better of living in one of the towns on the outskirts, Denia I think is one of them, which is alot cheaper to live there and they could have caught a train in to Valencia to work.

Oh, and Lynz, some of the warnings on things, or the way that they are worded are quite funny!!!

I would doubt they'd have any medical training, they would need skills in administration as that's their job as they are receptionists in a way.
It does my head in when i phone the doctors for an appointment and the receptionist asks what it's for- it's none of her business, patient confidentiality anyone?!

Yep, silica gel absorbs excess moisture (which is why you mustn't eat it, cos if you do you'll shrivel up and die as it sucks the liquid right out of you ).

about silica gel...

lynsey, silica is a dessicant, ie it keeps the air in the container dry, by removing water vapour. so a small packet of silica gel is put into containers holding things that would otherwise get ruined by moisture, like leather shoes for example. these packets are labelled the way they are cuz their main use is in food packaging, where dumb kids (sic) would eat everything in the box, including the silica (the granules look like sugar). hence silica gel manufacturers always print highly obvious warnings all over the packets, not that silly really if you think about it. like miranda quite rightly said, if you were dumb enough to eat silica gel, youd get all the moisture sucked out of your body and youd shrivel up and die.

about moths eating your clothes...

jade, silica gel does not repel moths. naphthalene does. and in fact, you wouldnt even need to worry about moths and shoes anyway. moths only like to eat natural fibre, like cotton or wool. they wont eat leather i dont think. so your shoes are safe, no need for any of those balls!

and about hospital desk/ward clerks...

heather, ward clerks are not medically trained, although they may pick up medical jargon and so on as they go along. charlotte is right, their work is actually a combination of secretary, personal assistant, general admin clerk and receptionist. so people who go for this type of job might have this sort of background/training, although many are in parttime posts and have never had any formal training at all. but above all, they should have good communication skills, cuz thats vital for all the interaction they have with other staff, visitors and patients. oh, and good legs. also vital. some of the ward clerks in hospitals ive worked at have been quite hot, unlike jerry and frank. lol

theres this one song that i keep hearing and seeing the video for on any music channel that i switch over to (in fact, just saw it again! ugh...)... "do it again" by cookie, yet another in what seems to be this unending production line of manufactured bands consisting of a group of skanky garden implements. and whats more, i seem to be mesmerised by the melody from the lips of the extremely trashy blonde on lead vocals, despite the fact that im not really that into blondes.

the question is... do i need help?
