I read that Luca n Abbey had best pasts or hard past, i don't understand what actully happend to them, please could som1 ezplain it to mee ... what happend to them ???

They were together in series 7 and a bit of series 8, they split up and Abby broke his fishtank...it was funny.

Going back before ER...

Luka's family (wife, young son and daughter) died in the war in Croatia, an artillery shell hit their apartment while he was out looking for food.
He moved to the US some time later, it hasn't been specified exactly when.

Abby's mother (and now her brother too) has bipolar disorder, so Abby didn't get much of a childhood because her mother didn't always take her medication, and would go off the rails quite a lot. Her father left them when Abby was about 8(?).

Anyone else want to continue?

I suppose that the other important element to Abby's backstory is that she was married (Richard Lockhart, a doctor) got pregnant and had a termination because she was afraid of the implications of her mother's illness. She didn't tell her then husband, marriage fell apart, relations between them chilly.

And of course - Abby was a recovering alcoholic at the point at which she joined the show.

So many great episodes but I loved all the stuff between Doug and Carol. The ones when Dr Greene was really sick were beautifully acted too.
Also on subject of Abbie and Luka I'm pretty sure her brother killed himself or am I imagining it, I know he went off somewhere and Abbie and her mum were desperately searching for him.

omg if you dont want to spoil things dont go on you tube!! i was looking to watch season 8 and it took me to seaon 14!!! i watch an NBC episod not relising and then at the end i cliked !! oh well lol x

Abby's brother's name is Eric. He went missing in S9 (went off in a plane which was later found abandoned)after being diagnosed with BPD and resisting treatment.

He didn't kill himself but actually, after peeing up against a tree in full view of the mourners at Carter's grandmother's funeral and then falling into the open grave (oops!) several people would have volunteered to off him themselves.

As far as we know he is currently OK.

I don't know where you can see the episodes (they're available on dvd but would cost you a small fortune to buy all 12 seasons) but you can read recaps of all episodes up to the end of S11 at Television Without Pity.

Joe - so much happened in every series it would be impossible to recap really but I'm sure you can find synopsis of episodes on various fan sites, I've watched ER from series 1 episide one and I'm still hooked, I'm collecting series on DVD as birthday and Xmas presents, haven't got far yet, onyl to 3 but birthday coming up soon :-))

ok well if you ever are board and in a good mood and you have series 6 after your birthday, you could always put them on ya computer and send them to me

I do urge you to read the Television Without Pity recaps and, for after season 11 (when they stop) look at "Cranky Recaps" (Google will get you to the site.

iv been on televison without pitty and i cant understand how to gt the episode up is gose frm season 6 episod 11 to season 11 episode 1 n them season 9 episod 8

and id prefer to watch them

Go to the TWP home page. On the top right hand of the page click on the drop down menu for "Pick a show here" and select "More shows".

Scroll down to ER and click.

Click on drop down menu for "List by" and select "All".

You'll then have about 6 pages of recaps listed with episodes 1.1, 1.20 and 2.7 from the earlier years and then every episode of seasons 6 to 11 inclusive.

At the top of that page you'll also see a "Show FAQ" link; click on that and scroll down the linked page to "Questions About Characters". Toward the bottom of that section there's "Give me the low down - who's on this crazy show" and when you click on the red "answer" you'll bring up basic character profiles.
