I know we used to have a 'Tattoos and Piercings' thread but its long since gone, and I need advice on one of mine.
On Monday, I got a Surface Piercing done, an inch below my belly button. The day I got it, it was fine, no pain, no problems; but today and yesterday its very red and sore to touch.
Should I be worried?
Having looked on the Internet, it seems these kinds of piercings are likely to reject or grow out...could mine be doing that? Or is it just part of it healing?
Any answers would be so greatly appreciated!

When I had my belly button piercing done it was fine on the first day but then became sore over the next few days. The feeling inside the piercing could only be described as raw. I cleaned mine with Savlon and used savlon dry until the soreness eased. Try this or salt water for around 4 days and see if it improves, if not go to your gp or pharmacist for advice.
The overall outcome for mine was that it was ok but my jeans would catch on the piercing all the time which in turn pulled the piercing forward and eventually I took it out. I have a short body which means that aloy of jeans and trouser bands tend to lay across my belly button. I now just have a scar.

I never had any probs when I got my actual belly button pierced, or with any of my piercings really, so I wasnt expecting to have trouble with this one either...but being so low it does catch more than my navel one does.
I went out and bought Savlon Antiseptic Spray, hoping that will do the trick!

These piercings are the most notorius for rejection. What you describe sounds like it could be the start of rejection but I would say its most likely sore & red due to it being such a new piercing for you. You may find your clothes are irritating it. Surface piercings aren't for every one as they do tend to require more care and attention than other piercings.
Keep an eye on it and see how it goes. Keep it clean (you will know all that already!) lol
When i got my belly button pirced is was red for quite a while.. remember you just had a peircing done so it is going to be red and sore.. use antiseptic soap in the shower and pat dry with a towel.. and use antiseptic cpray on it aswell... if nothing is improving i suggest you go back to the place you got it done and as them to have a look at it.
