So tonight's ep....loved it. Felt a bit sorry for Kerry, but good on her for taking the flack, she did look tearful when she told Morris she wasno lnoger Chief-of-Staff, but i reckon she'll enjoy it more as an attending. Like the old days. The ending I loved, as it was both sad and happy, sad as the baby's still sick but happy as it's getting better and the final scene with them all looking at the pictures of the baby was really good and brought home fact that the staff are like a big family. Morris has come along from the early days when he wasn't that good as a doctor (am reminded here last ep of a series when Carter left and that stand fell down at Ray's gig and crushed those people - 2 years ago maybe) to now when he is a pretty good one. Good stuff, great ep.
"Never let your work become your life, Kerry. Live a little."
it is now 22.13 and no one else has comment i can't be the only loser here!

yeah it was a nice happy joy episode, come the end. although my e4 plays up wtih the bad wether so i had to watch tonights epi on youtube with super poor quility
i loved tonights epi and there was no major cliff hanger so i wont be having ER constently playing on my mind. but for some reson my freeview always plays up in the bad weather so i had to watch it on youtube with super poor quality but im glad that evryone was ok. but sad to see Kerry get demoted
The part when Abby says "I'm trying,I'm really really trying" was such a good acting! And Sam is already working a week after she shot someone dead? Btw...I'm Dutch so my English isn't perfect
LOVED this episode. The season is looking great so far
Abby/Luka/Maggie - brilliant. All of it. From Luka convincing Abby to do the trial, to Maggie begging the doctors to look at Joe, to the end scene (I completely guessed they were just trying to make us believe Joe was dead when he wasn't really though..but it still worked beautifully when we saw Abby in the chair..) They are all wonderful actors so the scenes were perfect. Loved Abby and Maggie's scene when the surgery was going on...so touching!
Morris- brilliant..I especially loved his head craning up the stairs after Luka..hehehe
Sam - Still don't really care to be honest and man that guy STILL MUMBLES! Can't understand a word he says!! I loved how sweet Kerry was to her though when she came into the hospital.
Will be great seeing Kerry as an attending again (incidentally what DID actually happen with Clemente? As in, what did Kerry do? I've forgotten!)
Gates- hmm...could be interesting but did anyone else wonder why he had to be a doctor? Why can't he just be a paramedic? We don't seem to have any 'recurring paramedics' these days.. He reminded me so much of Shep when he hit those guys though...meh.
Didn't care so much about the credits this week actually...I think it was just the shock of it last week. I'll just have to get my 'theme tune fix' from the DVDs!
Best line- Frank: Ohhh, what'd you do? Mug a pimp? Morris: Yeah. Your dad says hi.
I thought this was a great episode. Abby/Luka/Maggie scenes were spot on. Abby losing her rag with her mum, her mum playing the neurotic grandmother and Luka was kinda out there on his own. All wanting the best for Joe but not 100% sure what they wanted to do. I loved the sign Maggie made for the side of Joe's crib, made me chuckle. I thought Sally Field was absolutely great in this episode, it was good to have her back for a while. When Abby was sat in the chair at the end of the episode, I didn't expect Joe to be there, I just simply thought he was still in hospital and she was at home having a moment to think what had happened over the last few weeks. It was a lovely ending to a traumatic few weeks.
Morris really does make me chuckle, I too thought it was funny when he went back into the room and told them the drug he was failing miserable to sell was a scam.
Kerry was ever so caring and good on her for being honest. It takes an awful amount of guts to stand up and admit when you are at fault and I admire her for that.
I too thought exactly the same as you Clare about Gates' punch up, Shep instantly sprung to mind. So thats two storylines for yesteryear that have had similarities to the current season.
And was it my imagination or did Ray look to have bulked out a bit? I don't mean this in an awful way, I thought that he looked more solid and he looked better for it. In fact I think that as a result of that he caught my eye. Would still love to see him and Neela get together.
I look forward to next weeks episode.
Luv MD xx

Did Weaver really screw up or was she just covering for Luka because of everything he was going through at the time with Joe and everything? I thought it seemed like she took the bullet for them because she didn't want him losing his job to add to everything else.
Which was nice of her. She was a bit epic in this episode - which is funny cos I was watching the More4 ones too, where everything was all, "Weaver - what a b!tch!"
And the whole thing with Abby and Maggie - true thing, some epic acting from Maura Tierney and Sally Field...
I hope Sam's sugar daddy doesn't turn out to be a total dick.
I can't believe I just said, "sugar daddy."
I'm too cool.

Nope, Kerry really did screw up; she hired Clemente knowing that he had a dodgy past (which she refused to discuss with Luka); she made excuses for him; when Luka wanted to keep him off work for longer after the shooting she told him to put Vic back on the rosta. He refused.
Evidently she'd told Anspaugh that she'd asked Luka to get rid of him but he'd refused - a complete lie. In this episode she took the rap for her own bad decisions, many of which Luka had disagreed with.
It's possible that the knowledge of what Luka was going through meant that even Kerry couldn't quite bring herself to do the dirty on him in this way - but she wasn't taking the blame for Luka's mistakes - they were all hers.
Thank you Mrs E for the reminder. I couldn't remember what Kerry had done either.
I thought this episode was even better than the first episode. It was lovely.
Bringing Maggie in at that time was perfect. And I cried at the end when Abby asked when she'd be back.
Morris was fabulous again. I'm so glad he got his job, although I was sure he would.
I don't like the new guy either. He is just too full of himself. He's going to be one of those ones with a god complex when it comes to being a doctor...
Poor Neela, why wasn't anyone else looking out for her.
I loved how it ended, it was like 'all is right with the world'.
I liked the way it all took place over a few weeks - so it wasn't just dragging on with everyone dwelling on the shooting and stuff. I really don't like Gates, but I loved the scene with him and Ray when he said "I heard she had this roommate who didn't try to sleep with her." and Ray was like "Yeah, what a dill weed!" I found that highly amusing!

Have to wait for S4C to show Epi 2 series 13,don't normally read whats coming up in ER as I don't want to spoil things but had to check if baby was okay. I'm not sure about the whole Morris being great doctor all of a sudden, i noticed in epi one that his skills had miraculously improved overnight, almost like he'd had a brain transplant, he really was the worst Doc they'd ever had, not sure his sudden improvement rings true but I guess hes been swatting!!
Mighty Mouse, that sucks about S4C - i am in Wales, and one of conditions for me to come back to uni this year was that I was buying a digibox (which i did) so I wouldn't have to stay up until the early hours to watch ER and such. Poor you!

Oh and I know what you mean about Morris. End of last series suddenly his skills improved, from him being sick and fairly incompetant when he first joined (remember Carter's last ep when that stand fell down at Ray's gig and Morris didn't really do much).

I know you are talking about the second episode of season 13 but I unfortunaly missed the episode 1 Bloodline does anyone know if it is to be repeated or will I have to watch it on line? Thanks!
