according to my tv guide for next week, new ER episodes are being replaced by ...................................old ER episodes!!!!!!!! i really dont see the logic in it, why take off 1 season of a show to replace it with another!?!?!

After watching ER on Sunday evening I was disappointed to hear that ER will be taking a break for a few weeks with no explanation as to why. I find that giving an announcement at the end of the episode was insufficient and there should have been more of an explanation as to why the decision has been made to insert a break in the series. For as long as I have been watching ER, I have never known there be a break in the series and I certainly don't see the need to start now.
I have recently visited the ER Forum on your website to see if there is any explanaition as to the reason for this break and I am yet to find any. Also there are now rumours that the future episodes of ER are only to air on C4 and no showings on E4, is this correct? If the new schedule is true, this is unfair to the viewers who have taken on access to digital television to be able to watch shows on E4 prior to airing on terrestrial television. Also this decision causes problems for many people who watch ER on E4 on Thursday so they are able to watch other programmes on a Monday night at the time ER would usually air on C4.
I would appreciate if you could reply with answers to my questions and an explanation for this decision.
Many thanks in advance.

Wow, a lot of replies. Thanks to you all, I will send a complaint as well though it doesn't really concern me, only my mum as she watches both prison break and ER and so now I'm being the good daughter (before I hop back off to uni) and trying to find out, as I doubt she'll watch PB at midnight on friday (though she might if she were desperate) Anywho, anyone know about S4C? Will they still be airing ER as usual?
Hey!, I'm not Weird, I'm eccentric, theres a difference.

good news - i got a reply they said ER will be back on E4 from 19th april and apologised that the announcement was confusing as alot of people (like me) had thought it was cancelled!!!! so it is back on and it is all the announcers fault!!!!!

Well that means that nothing is 'moved'. It just means that both E4 and C4 are having a break. Although, unless they do a double episode, C4 will be ahead of E4.

IIRC the announcer said something to the effect of seeing ER first on Ch 4 when it returns, so it seems it may just be a switcheroo on where&what day you can see it first.

Thanks for that info, however does that mean when e4 shows the episode on 19 april is that a repeat from c4 episode. OMG my heads hurting.

I think they're having a break for Easter or something. But it appears that this week's old ep was focussing on Doc Ross and they said next week it will focus on Doc Greene, but I dunno what ep it will be.

The storm part 2 will be shown on sunday i think, instead of the second chance episode.
The one focusing on Dr Greene is 'On the Beach'.
As touching as that episode is, it seems strange to show it as they have just shown it on More4 recently aswell. I'd rather they choose an episode from earlier in the series.
Why is channel 4 so reluctant to show episodes from early seasons?

I thought it might be one of his last eps, cheers Juices. As for why C4 does not show early seasons, I'm not sure. It is usually series 6 onwards (though occasionally series 5), not seen series 4 or before for ages on More4/E4/C4. I recently (well in January) watched all of Series 4 which I hadn't seen before, so now I have seen most series (some series 5 eps i might not have seen though that could be due to me not watching all eps as am at uni etc if they were on). C4 do have a tendency to show series 7 or 8 onwards, and sometimes even later. They have also, in the past, when on C4 at dinnertimes (say 1pm), missed out eps on occasion too.

That's a strange comment to make. No excuse at all?! And did they really have the big spelling mistake/typo in that?! My, my, Channel 4. *tuts* lol
