I'm a big fan of the Luka/Abby relationship and was wondering what everyone else's favourite scene (s) are of them. I know its easy to love any scene with baby Joe in, but my personal favourites come from the earlier years.
MY most favourite scene comes from season 10, ep4. Luka has returned from the Congo and has been off work recovering from his illness, and Gillian has returned to her boyfriend in Canada. Luka and Abby are walking along the river (same place where Luka beat that bloke to death on one of there first dates) and Abby is telling Luka that life is going well and that she has made some decisions. Before she has chance to explain further her pager goes off, and she has to head back to do an extra nursing shift. Luka asks her if she can pretend that she hasn't got (sic) the page, but she says she has too as she needs the money.
In itself this is a pretty non-eventful scene, but I think this scene is so well acted, that the chemistry between Abby and Luka is almost tangible. The looks between them capture what they are both feeling (but not saying) perfectly. Very well acted IMO.
My second favourite scene is a bit more difficult, as there are so many of them! It is in season 8, after Abby has been beaten up by her neighbour. She is staying on Luka's couch until her neighbour moves out or is convicted. She gets up from the sofa to go to the bathroom and is wrapped in a blanket. Luka comes past and stops her, and during the verbal interchange checks that her eye socket is recovering from the beating she had recieved. Again in itself a very simple scene, but the tenderness Luka shows to Abby I find very touching.
Obviously as a fan I could list many more favourite scenes! but would be interested to know what other peoples favourites are.
