i'm kinda reluctant to watch the next Harry Potter movie 'cos inevitably the actors/actresses playing each of the characters are gonna be different to how i imagine the characters to be in my head but the ones that bug the most are Sirius Black and Professor Lupin!! i imagine them to be really fit!! but in the film they're old. .. and ugly. ..and aaargh!
lol. i actually fell in love with both Sirius and Lupin while reading the book. OMG! I've just remembered - doesn't Sirius die in the last book?!

"Hunk? I don't know anything about hunk...When I first started being asked about that two years ago, I played dumb - 'Honk, vot does that mean? The thing on the wheel of a car, honk-honk?'"

I can't stand him. He can't act either. I have a problem with the crappy acting in general, ESPECIALLY Ron, who is just awful. He has about one facial expression : and even that is crap and makes me want to poke him really hard off a cliff. But maybe that's just me.
I prefer the books because then I don't have to look at them, and I can just imagine instead.
"Let me just put down this bag of rats and I'll tell you..." "What could possibly make us even for the Tampa job... "Why would you get a tattoo of a mop?"
I thought Gary Oldman was great as Sirius. He was pretty much as I imagined.
Although I've found all the films to be a bit disappointing compared to the books. But when the books are so good its always going to be able to live up to them.
I am still looking forward to the next film though. Although I have no idea how they're going to fit it all in.
Oh and I have a HP claim to fame... one of my pupils was an extra in the first one.
I'm looking forward to the next HP film, but if I'm honest, I'm more psyched up for seeing the first Chronicles of Narnia film (teaser trailer here ).
I've been re-reading the CoN books recently, and rewatching the BBC adaptations, and I'm more than ready to see what they've done with Lion/Witch/Wardrobe.

Nah, he's not FIT, but he's not that bad. He's not exactly stunning but he ain't butt ugly either if you know what I mean. He's average.
Yeah Clare! Cedric looks like a girl!
I really like the 3rd one too. Alfonso Curon did an amazing job.
I think Fred and George are ok actually, they just aren't as mischievous as I imagine them to be.
CLARE!!! Tom Felton?!?!? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! NOOOOO!! Me and my friend went through a [hase of searching for pictures of half the cast and taking the mick out of them! He was a man feature! His acneis sooooo gross!!
Me and my mate used to go on imdb and look up Daniel Radcliffe. If you ever went on when they had tha really gorky young picture on then you'll understand why we were in hysterics!! It was hilarious!!!
Awww kate! I like Ron! he's well funny! SO much more of a better actor than the other two!

Hmmm M, I'm not sure. I never read them and I wasn't brought up with them. I've seen the trailer and the girl in it is the girl who was in Thunderpants with Rupert Grint and that girl just gets under my skin! I have a disliking for her! Don't know why!

I never saw that film - out of interest, do you mean the older girl (Susan) or the younger one (Lucy)?

You should give them a go, you might find you like them (definately start with Lion/Witch/Wardrobe if you do read them). The language feels a bit dated now, but they're decent books. BTW, IMO it's best to read them in the original written order, with LWW first and Magician's Nephew 6th. They've been re-numbered over the years, but I think the original written order flows better than the chronological order.
I was just the right age for it when the BBC versions came out, they got to me that way, lol. I've inherited my sister's copies of the books.
Anyway - I'm not sure that LWW is going to be any better or worse than HP, I s'pose it's just that it's new that's making me more interested in that one coming out...you kinda know what to expect from HP by now, while LWW is all shiny-new and yet-to-be-seen...does that make sense?
thanks for link M, it looks soo good! i've been re-reading them all and just finishing the last battle, so i can't wait for the film to come out!
am also excited about the new HP book, might have to read the 5th one again as i can't remember much of it. the films do annoy me a bit, especially dobby, he looked nothing like i imagined him, still love them though!

Do you know what happened to the boy who suddenly got everything he ever dreamed of? He lived happily ever after.
Yeah to be honest i am too! Cos I love the little world of HP I have inside my head! Anyone else have that?! It's just more special cos you are the one thats creating it all in a way, with guidance from JK Rowing of course. But when the films come out you notice differences to how to imagined things.
Like the Dursley's kitchen. I don't imagine it like that really. It's odd! And don't even mention Hogwarts! That ges all screwed up when i see it on the big screen!
Who d'you reckons the 'Half-Blooded Prince'?? JK apparently said here were alot of clues in Chamber of Secrets. So on that I think it could be, Justin Finch-Fletchley or Colin Creevy. But they seem pretty randm!
Anyone else any ideas?

I haven't really thought about who it might be. I will probably be looking when I re-read book 5.
As for Hogwarts... it doesnt help that they changed it all in the 3rd film.
But yes, books are so much better for stirring up your imagination than a film. There's always a fear watching films of books you love that it will all be wrong. I do think the HP films have been pretty good. Although there are a lot of brilliant moments that have been missed out.
I don't know if i prefer the books or films, I think the books as its better to imagine things for yourself! And some of the acting in the film was terrible!
omg i love H.P, such a huge fan. my friend & i r gettin the 5.57 bus in2 town in the mornin 2 get it - yes we're that sad! we're so excited
i didnt like the 3rd film really in comparisson to the book, i didnt like how the castle looked & the fact the didnt wear uniforms, of how much they left out from the book bt im a fan so of course i loved it!
why are you trying so hard to fit in......when you're born to stand out .......................................... "...And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through..." .......................................... Andrew: Is it your parents Alison: Yeah Andrew: What do they do to you Alison: They ignore me
Originally posted by susan_wannabe: ooh and forgot to say- the one major disappointment with the films for me has been Fred and George... they're RUBBISH!
yea, IMO they really cant act. they go to a school near me (or did) and apparently in their drama group, they were the worst two at acting
there was something about his parents being really great wizards, wasnt there? im not sure because i havent read any of them for so long, but isnt that why voldermort killed them? becase they stayed good?
