Yup, you said it! She also said that Book 2 and i think the film too, hold clues to the 6th book, with regards to the Prince.

So I'm thinking Colin Creevey, or one of the petrified people, but weren't the all Mudbloods or did the snakey get some half-bloods too?? Hmmm....Smile

For those who are interested, ITV1 has a few Potter programmes going on in preparation for the launch.

Sunday 10th July, 5.15-6pm - Harry Potter at the Castle: the quest for the Ultimate Harry Potter fan.

Friday 15th July, 11.45pm-12.10am(saturday) - Harry Potter at the Castle: Magic at midnight.

I think the first is a quiz-show kinda thingy, and the second will probably be to do with JK doing the reading at the castle etc.

Yeah, it's Edinburgh Castle. Smile

The Radio Times blurb says 'featuring author J K Rowling', so hopefully they'll have her reading an excerpt from the new book or whatever it is she does at these things. Smile

Wow, Edinburgh really is in the spotlight this month.

Hmm, I wonder if its something people can just turn up to... and I wonder if I can find some child to take along with me so that I wouldnt look out of place.

Mind you if I did that I wouldnt be at home for my delivery the next day. Oh well.

I have an addition to make, thanks to Radio Times's website:

ITV1, Sunday 17th July, 5.30-6pm - Harry Potter at the Castle.

The blurb:

quote:
The JK Rowling Interview

One child will interview author J.K. Rowling. This is the only one-on-one interview she will give in this country and is the culmination of three programmes commissioned by ITV to celebrate the launch of the new Harry Potter book - 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince'. The child is the winner of 'The Quest forthe Ultimate Harry Potter Fan' on ITV1 on July 10th. This child will have beentaken up to Edinburgh where the countdown begins just before midnight on July 15th with the arrival of 70 children from around the world. They have been invited to the castle to hear author J.K. Rowling read an extract from the new book. This programme will show highlights of the Friday night, along with the competition winner's journey and their exclusive interview with J.K. Rowling.

Ah, that's so cute. Smile

I heard she did a couple of interviews with American journalists as well, because she liked the HP fan web-sites they had made. But I don't think she likes the British press. Not surprising really. Roll Eyes

I'm on page 276 on HP 5 now! Woooh! And I am remembering why I didn't re-read it before, I still think it could have done with a little bit of editing, it is maybe slightly too long. Because it is huge and hurting my arms to hold. Big Grin And also, occasional parts do drag on a bit, especially later on, I seem to remember.

Everyone I talk to now, and I mean everyone I have spoken to in the last week, is refreshing their Order of the Phoenix knowledge in preparation for 16th July!
I pre-ordered my book from my local bookshop. I could have got it half price from Amazon or somewhere equally impersonal, but I want to support my local shop. It's so fun in there, they have made ridiculous effort for the launch of the book Smile
I absolutely adore McGonagall in book 5:
"So you shouted at Umbridge in lessons? ...Have a biscuit." Big Grin
Never before have I loathed a book character as much as 'toadlike' Umbridge *shudder*

I'm just taking a break from sitting in the sun reading it. Umbridge was just inspecting McGonagall's class...

"Hem, hem."

"I wonder," said Professor McGonagall in cold fury, turning on Professor Umbridge, "how you expect to gain an idea of my usual teaching methods if you continue to interrupt me? You see, I do not generally permit people to talk when I'm talking."

Brilliant! I'd love to own the classroom the way McGonagall does. Smile

Yay! I finished HP 5 on Saturday! I'd forgotten how much I liked it - I cried! Sirius is my favourite character, so it's kinda sad.... Frown

Annnnddd... I guess I will get a sneak peak of the book late Friday night! Big Grin Because I'm working at the opening - we have to dress up! so when we put the books out to set up, I may have to accidently sneak a look at the first page! Ninja Heh, it's gonna be so funny! So if any of you feel like ambling on down to a certain bookstore in the Surrey area... or not, but it would be funny if ya did. Big Grin

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the final book?? I hope it isn't too long.

So there's going to be major spoilers in here next weekend. My mum's decided to visit again, so I'll not be able to do the marathon reading session I did when the OOTP came out.

I guess it will be best to avoid this thread until I've finished reading the whole thing... or should we just do the colour coded thing?

we could start threads for each chapter I guess? Or is that silly?

I'm getting far too excited. I should be reading book 5 instead of typing this. I still have 300 pages to read before Saturday.

I finished re-reading them the other day and I was just the same! Sirius was my fave. She better bring him back to life, otherwise I'll bee soo vengeful! Ninja

Me and my cousin played this trick on my HarryPotter obsessed cousin saying that Amazon made a mistake and sent them out early. We done it really convincingly hehehe and she's soo upset that she dint pre-order it from there, hehehe.

Regarding the spoilers, I think at the beginning of the post should be the chapter number and title the person is discussing and then underneath where it is being discussed, it should be in a spoiler colour. Will that work?

I read the first 4 after seeing the first film. The book people had all 4 for £10, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Good plan btw Heena. Smile

Thats not true. They are a good read, you just can put them down. And they're easy to read too. I think I read the first 4 in a very short space of time.

Yeah, I know what you mean! I want her to bring him back too, but sadly I don't think it's going to happen. Frown Maybe he'll turn up in a couple of photos... doesn't really make up for it though. Roll Eyes
