How could you stop yourself from reading it if you have it sitting in your house?

Apparently they sold one in New York too but because it was only one they're making the person return it! Time to pretend they moved away I think.

I am going at midnight to get my copy. Oh my goodness I think I might die. The woman in my fun local bookshop only decided today to do it, and was really excited and saying "see you there!" to me. God I might dress up.

I'm hoping Harry gets a little more action in this 6th book, but not in the 'fighting' way. And for God's sakes I hope it isn't with fricking Cho blinking Chang.

I've spent the last 2 weeks re-reading all the books, and ended up doing it in a weird order.
Originally I was going to just read 4 and 5, but then I finished them with a week to go and thought I'd better keep myself occupied with the other 3 rather than start anything new. So I read 4, 5, 1, 2, 3. I'm totally ready for the new book now, lol.

RE spoilers - in this thread, I think there should be a spoiler warning before posting new info.
But if we get to a point where lots of people have finished the new book, it might be worth having a thread specifically for it, since there's a fair number of fans here.

OK, so who's going to throw their last-minute predictions in here before the book comes out?
C'mon, you know you want to - what if you're right?! Say it now, rather than later when no-one will believe you thought of it first!

My predictions are as follows (they don't all have good reason, some are just shots in the dark and wild guesses):

I predict... (these are PREDICTIONS, not spoilers!)

* The Half-blood prince will be either Snape, Seamus or Colin Creevey.

* There will be a chapter/scene set at Malfoy's manor (my shot in the dark #1 )

* Dumbledore won't die, it'll either be an older Weasley (ie the twins age or older, not Ginny or Ron), one of Harry's roommates (apart from Ron), or Prof McGonagall.

* Petunia will turn out to be a *very* late bloomer, and to Vernon's horror will develop a few magical skills of her own. (wild guess)

* We'll see Snape's boggart and it'll be Lily. (shot in the dark #2 - I read somewhere that his boggart will be revealed, but am not sure how true that is. I'm also not sure why I'm thinking it'd be Lily, it's just a wild guess. )

* Harry will leave the Dursleys quite quickly either because
1) he misses writing to the Order for a few days and they drop by to check up on him and whisk him away, or
2) because the Dursleys go away on holiday and send him to stay with someone magical rather than take him along with them.


Anyone else want to say theirs?

Ok:

1) Very similar to yours! The Half-Blooded Prince will either be, Colin Creevey, Seamus, or Ernie Macmillan. *Possibly* Snape I have an incling maybe it's him but i thought if i put that it'd look like I was copying you! Which i wasn't! i *did* actually think those months ago!

2) Luna will go back to Hogwarts with a new hairstyle and will be less weird.

3) Harry will start to like her more and possibly fancy her. And something *may* happen between them. Like, a kiss. (That's my shot in the dark! I really hope something will happen between these two! )

4) Hermione and Ron will declare their love for each other and will remain embarrassed about it.

5) Cho chang will start to hate Hermione (if she doesn't already.) and also Luna Lovegood.

6) Sirius will make an appearance as either in a photo or some other form.

All done!

Nah, don't think that. I know you're not copying me - there's bound to be similar predictions here and there, due to certain facts we know about previous books and what's been hinted about the new books.

RE Sirius - I know it's been said he's deaddeaddead, but since Harry's parents are dead too, and he saw them again, I think it's more than likely he'll reappear some way, some how, so I agree with your prediction #6.

I'm not really sure about whats going to happen, but I'll give it a shot.

1 With the death, it seems likely it will be Dumbledore, or McGonagall, as you already mentioned , because she was showing her age in the 5th book. Or maybe it will be someone wildly unpredictable! Just as long as it isn't Fred or George.

I like your theory M, of Petunia showing a magical side! That would be so funny. I think that there might be some interaction between her and Harry, secretly, maybe even talking about the past.

2 - I'm really unsure about the half blood prince. All the options I can think of are pure blood, isn't Snape? That means he couldn't be, unless that was a lie, but surely he couldn't have hid that? It would be cool if it was him though, I like him! Although he is a tad evil. I felt so sorry for him in the 5th book - his worst memory chapter. Although I guess he deserved it.

3. I think Harry will learn more about his parents.

4 Harry will fight Voldemort again - and win. Again. I'm just guessing here.

I'd always assumed so until recently, since he was a death-eater etc - but then I read speculation including that Voldie isn't pure-blood and he's boss of the DE's, so I suppose it's possible he'd make exceptions in certain cases.

Also, JK's never stated what Snape's parentage is, IIRC, which leaves it wide open to speculation.

I would never have picked him at first, but more recently I've read some cases here and there for it being him, which have shoved him up my list.

I can't remember that bit! I'm nearly at that chapt. so I'll take a look!

And yeah, if they both confide in Harry first, that sounds more like it. But they HAVE to declare it someway or another, even if it's not directly to one another! Just re-reading HP5 I can see clues! And what with the hints also in the films that aren't in the books.

For instance: Ron's bothered when Hermione's writing to Krum, Ron buys Hermione perfume for Christmas! There are so many more subtle hints too! But the one scene I can't wait to see in the 5th film is the one after Cho kissed Harry. Ron's reaction making Harry smaile. SUCH a great moment. And Hermione being all 'in-the-know' about Cho. haa haa. I hope they don't cut that scene!

if dumbledore dies, it will come with you to poke her in the eyes, we can do an eye each! he can't die, it will be do sad, i'd rather harry dies than dumbledore!

1. Snape is the Half Blooded Prince

and

2. Hagrid's gonna die.

Oh and I think Sirius will come back in some form or another. Otherwise the puppy gets it

I think we might have to start a new thread......this one can just be for the Anticipation of the Book and Speculation...your idea was good Heena but things could still be slipped and we could still do that in the actual spoiler thread for people who haven't read up to tht certain chapter or something.....what does everyone think??

Thats a good idea. But I actually think I'll just ignore the threads till I'm finished.

Then it might be a good idea to have a thread for people who are finished to talk about it.
