Thoughts anyone? And rants about them moving it to Channel 4 with a 2 week break? *cries* I thought we wouldn't have to have the break like they did in the States. Gay.

In truth, I was a teensy bit bored by this episode.
The Pratt stuff was uninteresting, the Abby/Eddie stuff was very formulaic/predictable, the whole Ray/Neela/Gates love triangle is poorly written in my opinion. And Ray & Gates' childish spats over the patients were terrible- I cheered when Luka came and set them straight

We haven't seen *anything* of what Neela really feels about the situation.. we've only seen her get upset about Meg/Sarah calling her a wh0re.. I for one would like her to have a conversation with Abby or someone about her actual feelings...WHY is she still ok with Gates after everything that's happened? I just don't believe it. What are her feelings towards Ray? Does she realise they're both fighting over her?? I want to know!

And I just found Gates really yucky in all his scenes with sarah- I really don't like him.
I am mildly interested in what is wrong with Meg though..

The Sam stuff really annoyed me. She is so silly. Does she really thinking letting random guys she's known for like, 5 minutes, sleep over at their house is ok? No wonder Alex is messed up. She should be spending time with her son. Grr.
But how much of a fool was Alex with the fire...haha..it just struck me as comedy. The old Alex would have played that scene much better.

The only good stuff was the Kerry stuff...although even that was a little cheesy- I thought she'd gone and turns out they're dragging out her goodbyes a bit more.. the lines in the scene with Abby were so predictable I was saying them before she did '...to a doctor...to a mom...you've seen me at my best...and my worst.'
but I am a sentimental little girl really so it still got me when they were both crying!

The stepdad story was a bit tired too but it was nice to see Ray getting a bit more involved with the patients..

totally guessed that eddie was abbys dad a few weeks ago. and if that is the end of that storyline - really what was the point!?!?

i think we got a little clue as to neelas feelings when she was walking away from ray with gates but kept looking back at him. or is that just me being hopeful!!

sam - what is with that girl and men! seriously she hardly knows this guy. she doesnt seem to be at all affected by her 'rape' and killing her ex.

ok rays moustache is getting too big! but sams hair was looking better

I don't think it will be the end of the Eddie story; not after all that build up.

Oooh and yes- creepy Curtis Ames!! I saw him sat there the first time the camera panned over...urgh, he's horrible.

i don't think its the end of Eddie's storyline either, but what a day for Abby - finding out that man was her dad, and then going back home to find another creepy man in her house!!!!!
omg - whats is Ames going to do? how did he get in? all so creepy - AND she has a baby with her, i hope Kovac comes home soon... but we won't even find out for another couple of weeks
they didn't have a break last year at easter did they? its really weird taking a break - the good thing about living in the UK is that even though we get the shows afer everyone else - we get to see a whole series run straight through - usually.

Ray - that man needs to sort out his gelled hair and dodgy moutache before he can be seen with Neela. it was sweet though that he actually vocalised his feelings about Neela to pratt - and then nearly to Neela!!!

i couldn't believe Sam - bringing that Nurse into her bedroom after not even one real date! and after one kiss - she has a young son with problems in the next room that she needs to address or see to - does Alex ever get shown any real love from her or just disapproving looks all the time? poor messed up little boy.

thought the Weaver seens were ok - but way too cheesy! lol - atleast they gave her some sort of proper send off though

I was surprised with the Eddie / Abby storyline. I totally fell for the distraction of the Ames storyline.

You'd never guess that ER was taking a mid-season break after this episode. I mean how many cliff hangers can they throw into one episode??? The writers missed a trick: Morris, Crenshaw & Dubenko were not in this episode. We could have had at least 3 more cliffhangers. I'm dissapointed :-)

My highlight: Pratt gets a grilling from the police. "Isn't one of you supposed to be the good cop?"

AMES AMES AMES!!!! NO NO NO!!! EEEK! strange flipped out man in the Luby household! he needs professional help! then they go and put a "break" for two weeks! what are the E4 peeps doing ot us!

aww to sam and ben and booo to spoilt child ben and woop woop to Grandma! at least her hair is getting better.

liked the line when neela and ray are fighting and gates goes lets get an intendings opinion and they both go "No!" and Carl the Caterpillar Moustache is definately getting bigger. and larger and he'll become a butterfly!!

NOOO! The Ames story finally comes to a climax after such a tense build up and weeks of wondering what he's going to do and there's a two beeping week break! agree eternalsunshine not one of Abby's better days! I strongly recommend that she carries some sort of weapon or takes up self defense, she always seems to end up in pretty messed up situations- e.g. her violent neighbour beating her up and being kidnapped! Eddie being her dad was annoyingly predictable but I agree the storyline will surely be deveoped (if she escapes from Ames!) Hurry home Luka!

Weaver's leaving was disappointing, her last epi and she was barely in it! I did like the cheesyness with Abby and Luka's speeches though (i'm so soft). Really sad she's leaving epecially after seeing the recent More4 epi's, she was just very different to the other characters. In all a bad exit IMO, and I find it hard to believe she'd just quit being a doctor.

OMG Sam! Last epi I said Sam and Ben were cute, thinking they'd take it really slow. But no she just jumps into bed with him with her son and gran in the flat! Classy! I'd been wondering when Alex would start to show signs of a child who saw his mum kill his dad and seems like he finally is, or maybe he's just very bored and angry with the Ben thing. Either way I hope the fire burns the annoying flicky bits at the side of his hair off! They drive me beeping crazy He should know better than to play with fire.

Yeay Ray and Neela conversing, enjoyed their feud over the patient and Ray was so damn close to telling her how he felt but no Gates shows up! Damn him to hell! And he was such a coward putting off telling Sarah that he was moving out- he's lucky she has such blind faith in him otherwise she'd have stopped caring by now.

Yeay Pratt's in jail, the good cop bad cop joke was quite funny though.

In all I thought the epi started very slowly and could have done with Morris and maybe Hope to liven thing's up, but it got much better towards the end and now I can't wait to find out how things will unravel. Damn the two week break!

WQas horrified last night - but is it true that they are taking a mid season break -and if so -how long will they be away for?
Ohh and I am bored by Sam as well - that woman is her own worst enemy and you can just see what is going to happen with Alex can't you!

Yep it's off air until April 16th when it will only show on Channel 4 (Mondays at 10) for the rest of the season as I understand it.
The break is something to do with them having a scheduling break in the States too ..

A few of us have put in complaints to Channel 4; just waiting to see how they respond!

I wish they still had an active mod over in Discuss 4. It was very useful to just go over there and ask what was going on.

tbh, I don't mind the break, as I've going away and it saves me having to remember to tape it.

Parts of this ep were predictable - like Abby's dad - & this was helped even less by the C4 preview last wk which gave quite a lot of the plot away. However, I really wanna see the next episode - Ames's just a little freaky! The Weaver scenes were cheesy but quite sweet I thought. Sam just went & got annoying again!

Fi I agree about the break- I don't mind that at all as 2 weeks really isn't that long, and I'm going away too! It's the moving to just C4 that's rubbish... means we only get one chance to watch it! I liked having the option of watching it Thursday, Sunday or Monday..gave us more freedom to go out and not worry about taping etc. Hmph.

I just read an interesting discussion on ER Forums about Abby not recognising that Eddie was her father. It jogged my memory that in earlier times ( when we first encountered Maggie) Abby said that her father left when she was seven, but she was still visiting him when she was ten. He may have changed a lot over the next twenty or so years, but surely she would have recognised him still, or at least his voice or mannerisms. Is this yet another continuity blunder showing that the current writers don't check their stories to see if they clash with past info. I don't expect them to remember everything, but I do expect them to check. Is it possible to forget what someone is like after a long, long absence. He may not have been around a lot, but he was her father. I reckon I could still remeber my grandmother who died well over thirty years ago, even if she turned up as a much older woman. No ????

I agree...I didn't remember that she'd said she was still visiting him at 10 years old. She would definitely have recognised *something* about him. Unless she is supposed to have bloacked it from her memory or something.. I assumed he'd left when she was really small.

And absolutely the writers should check everything! It's just lazy otherwise and offends the audience.. there is no excuse.
