i don't get what the big deal with them is... they sound so annoying and whiney and tuneless... sorry, i doN't mean to offend anyone, but it does sound so annoying! can someone explain the appeal?
And In The End The Love You Take Is Equal To The Love You Make
- Remember that, the Beatles were all about love, it's all you need. Peace and love everyone!
Apart from being one of the best bands to come out of sheffield in a loooooooong time they are just fecking brilliant! Listen to the songs and you'll soon find that not only are they true to life but there is humour amongst them too! Alex Turner is a natural born lyricist and a fricking amazing one at that! To get a number one debut single with little air play just goes to show how good they are, forget ya popstars, pop idol and X factor trash, T'internet is the way forward in getting recognised! To me, Arctic Monkeys are in a league of their own, with dedicated followers of the band they will do well in their own right and they compare to nothing.

What's the album called? I want to get it, either the nice way or the lime-ee way, I don't really mind.
"Let me just put down this bag of rats and I'll tell you..." "What could possibly make us even for the Tampa job... "Why would you get a tattoo of a mop?"
That's what confused me, because I looked on amazon and they only had singles. So where is everyone hearing the other songs?! I've only heard the one song, I think I might have to go lime-ing.

I will add you now. I don't like going on it though, because I don't like some of the people who have my address, like this guy from my old school, and I don't want to be stuck talking to them! Mine is my username here (small k) with hotmale dot com

Oooh, they are fantastic! And not because they are from Sheffield because I've never been there, I'm not really sure *where* it is and I think I spelt it wrong but just cos they are!!
But if that's not your taste them fair enough...
And shame on you all for l*mewire-ing!
Spreading the Carby Love
I spend 23 hours a day wondering whether we’re wrong for each other, wondering whether the baggage we both bring would be enough to sink a small ship...But in the 24th hour, I realise I’ve been thinking about her for 23 hours and it always comes back to, there's something about her that I can’t stay away from. Something about her, that makes me wanna…love her.
*~*~*So what am I? The butterfly or the tornado?*~*~*
For goodness-sakes people!! They haven't released an album yet!!! NO ALBUM! NONE! NADA! NICHT! The only way you can get their songs is from the Internet!! And me, of course.
So Lynz, not shame on them for L*mewire-ing at all! That's how they WANTED their music to be spread across! Through the t'internet! Go onto their website, you're likely to be able to download some of their stuff from their, if not then try the forum.
Their album is released in January sometime, I've got the 16th in my head for some reason, but I'm not sure if that's when they release their second single 'Sun Goes Down' formerly called 'Scummy' don't ya know....hahaha, see what i did there??!! "Don't you know"??!! lol, listen to Scummy/Sun Goes Down and you'll find out the connection.
Alex Turner went to High Green Primary and Stocksbridge Secondary School, along with one of the other guys. Bit of trivia for ya there (which probably means naff all to you but I know both of those schools, but didn't go to 'em, shame.)
The thing I love about AM are that Alex speaks with a Proper Sheffield Yorkshire Accent and talks about true to life things and also mentions 'Hunter's Bar' and 'Rotherham' in 'Fake Tales of San Fransisco' which is wicked cos I know exactly where Hunters bar is and well Rotherham is just down/up the road from Sheff. Also, they've got my favourite-est word in a title of their songs in which they also talk about said word...this title being "Mardy Bum"!!! Heee heeeeee! I *heart* Sheffield!
Anyone having trouble with getting hold of their songs, see me, rubyri at hot mail dot com and I'll sort you right out.
Arctic Monkeys kick arse, and not one of 'ems fit either so no distractions from the music! Yay!

Not only does he speak with a proper Sheffield Yorkshire accent, he sings with it too! I love the Yorkshire accent and I am well proud to be from Yorkshire.
I too said that he writes songs that are true to life, but with a comedy twist to it.
Which is ya fave song Ria?

Yeah he does which is great and is another reason wy I love him/them so much. I tried to get that across in't t'other post but I got sidetracked warbling. Ooooh, errm...either 'Mardy Bum' for obvious reasons, or 'Fake Tales of San Fran'. You? Mine'll probably end up changing soon though, they always do but those two will probs remain my highest rated tracks.

Ah how we missed you Ria!
*Takes a Bow* Why thank you.

Its a difficult choice to make, but Mardy Bum, A Certain Romance and When the Sun Goes Down stand out to me..but I like Bigger boys and stolen sweethearts aswell...see its too difficult!
I call my work mate Mardy Bum when goes off on one! That song suits her down to the ground!
