Vastly over-rated, over-hyped over-commercialised tosh. Buying things you don't need with money you don't have . An excuse for people to over-eat & drink far too much. TV showing even more bilge than usual.
All that enforced joviality, all the stress of playing "happy families", all the extra work (shopping, cooking, washing up etc) ... the brunt of which usually falls on poor mum .

I like Christmas. Unfortunately it is only what you or your family make of it.
I don't believe in spending oodles of cash. I find that showy and pointless.
The main point obviously is religous, but aswell as that it should be for spending time with family. My family don't fake niceness, we are ourselves and we buy things we know others will like.
I know I am lucky in that respect though.
The media/marketing/advertisers/big companies milk it for all it is worth though.
