Wow, this just goes to show how much attention i pay when i'm sitting in front of the TV! I realised she wasn't around much, but didn't know she'd left. Ah well. Why did she leave?

Susan left because Sherry Stringfield decided during the hiatus not to come back. On the show Susan has left to take a tenured position somewhere in Iowa.

don't know why the actor left....apparently she handed in her notice between seasons and didn't want to take part at all in the new season so thats why the writers had to just have Kerry tell everyone she had taken a new job elsewhere...in Idaho?! Think they wrote it that she was annoyed at carter for getting tenure and her thinking it was just because he donated lots of money to the dept and not becasue he deserved it.
