Just wanted to congratulate George Clooney on his Oscar for Syriana. I haven't seen it yet, but I saw "Good Night, and Good Luck." which I thought was a really brave and interesting film. Pitty it didn't win anything, but the competition was very stiff. Still, George Clooney has come a long way since ER and I'm so pleased for him, because he has brains and heart as well as good looks
Well done George!!!! Oh and well done everyone else, too (Especially Wallace and Grommit - Great Cheese)
yes i was very glad that he at least won one oscar (and wasn't he looking cute??) i wish brokeback mountain had won best film. or any other film (apart from memoirs...) for that matter. i have nothing against crash but i think BM was much more pioneering...

Abby: its not a gang it’s a club Carter: not another stage diving incident I hope Abby: first rule of girls club is you don’t talk about girls club Carter: you’re not going to tell me what you did? Abby: The usual, prank calls, pillow fights, lesbian experimentation
Yeah but I liked the fact that Crash won...like Sarah (I think) said in the double L thread it's great when an underdog wins...the rest were all completely predictable, and everyone thought BM would win best film..so it's nice to get a surprise. And I thought Crash was an awesome film- one of my favourites of 2005. What do you have against Memoirs Jen? I thought it was stunning!
But yes, huge congrats to George..haven't seen the film yet but still feel very proud of him and hugely chuffed for Reese- her performance in Walk The Line was just breathtaking...mightily well deserved win.
Lol, I can spend hours on it just finding everything out...every time I see a movie I log onto imdb afterwards and find out about everyone who was in it I'm a geek like that!
Right, that makes three of us then cos I do that too! As soon as the film is over I can't wait to IMDB it and then I email my bloke with all the trivia and where we've seen the actors before and he thinks I'm so sad but I know he loves it really!!
Haha, yeah that's the best part...finding out where you've seen all the actors before- cos I go to see so many films I usually recognise just about everyone in a film but I'm rubbish at remembering where from! Imdb is legendary
Oh my god i honestly thought i was the only one who was so crazy about imdb! i check it almost every day! it's such an amzing site!! that's so cool that you guys do the same thing! i also always look up films i've seen and read the trivia page!

i'm sure it's a good film but out of the ones nominated it was the one i was least interested in. i didn't actually see it so i guess yeah i shouldn't judge it. but i from what i've heard i sitll think that i wouldn't ahve liked it as muhc. though i don't doubt that it is a good film in it's own way, just not my cup of tea...

Yes, Imdb, fabulous site. It has a really good biography and filmography of all the cast of ER (and all other shows of course) as well as tons of clips, info, trivia about all the movies. I'm so glad you brought that to everyone's attention.
On the Oscars, I missed "Crash". Will have to get the DVD. Some people I know who saw it said they liked it a lot, but someone who has very similar tastes to me said they weren't so keen on it. I saw Broakback Mountain and Good Night, and Good Luck and really loved both of them. They are so different that it's hard to compare them. The others didn't attract me so much,so I didn't see them, so I can't comment, but I did think it was great they had Intelligent films this time round, and of course, as I said before, I was really chuffed for George!
Guys if you go to www.youtube.com and type 'Oscars speech 2006' or something similar in the search box..there's a 13 minute clip of all the main speeches (Reese, Philip, George, Rachel, Ang and the Crash producer people) It's awesome seeing them. Reese was *so* cute in her speech, bless her. Philip Seymour Hoffman was a bit blah but they're generally good. (Tip- wait for the grey bar to fill up on the video before watching it otherwise it'll keep pausing..takes a while but it's worth it )
i thought thaz George's speech was by FAR the best! and i'm not just saying that 'cause...you know..it's GEORGE i really think that what he said was very inteligent and was not just the usual..."i'd like to my mom, my dad, the director.........my dentists cousin and everyone else...." he is a really smart guy and boy did he look gourgeous!!

Yeah PSH was just too waffly wasn't he. I loved George's "Ok so I'm not getting Director then" Bless him. Reese's is my favourite though- "I'm just tryin'a matter!" love her.
