Oh my god what an episode! Poor abby tho, she won't be able to have any more children. I hope her baby will be ok.

Does anyone like the new ER theme tune? I didn't like it at all. I hope it was just for the one show and that the old one will be back next week.

Its not the new theme tune i think it was just being used as it was playd at the end of last seasons finale.. i thought it was amazing i cried my eyes out.
Next week i'd say theme will be back.

It was different music at the end.

I thought tonights episode was great, but not quite as adrenilin packed as I thought it was going to be.

Ugh, that credit music though was dreadful! but I guess we'll get used to it, and as long as the story is great.

Agree about it not being as 'pacey' as usual. Hope it improves.

Seriously??? ... cannot believe they got rid of the old music, fair enough they wanted to shorten it, but they could have just used a short sample of the old music! ... the new stuff really doesn't seem to get my heart racing like the old would ... guess I'll get used to it, after another decade! ... *sighs*

Some thoughts about the episode:

I'm glad Jerry survived!

I thought all the Luka/Abby scenes were so sweet - I hope baby Joe is going to be ok!!

It's still strange seeing Kerry without her crutch.

For once Morris didn't annoy me at all!

To be honest I wasn't really bothered about the Sam storyline, I don't know why, I just wasn't interested. Alex annoys me too!

...and I don't like the new credits/music either!

AAAHHHH so good to have it back!

My thoughts-
HATED the new credits. Tom had previously told me they were going to do that as he read it somewhere but I still HATED it. The credit sequence gets me so excited and I love the theme tune! Why change it? I was most upset.

Ok- onto the actual episode.
Luby scenes made me cry...they are both just *such* good actors the scenes are really moving. Especially the one where she said she didn't want Joe to be alone! I really felt for her being so helpless

Didn't like Luka flipping out in the toilets though.. a bit cliche IMO, I know he's had trauma and all but why does everyone have to throw things at mirrors?

The whole hysterectomy thing reminded me a bit too much of Carol giving birth to the twins...but I still felt really sorry for Abby The video phone thingy was so sweet though. And I'm SO glad they called him Joe...for some reason I thought I read somewhere it would be Damien?? Joe is much better!

LOVED LOVED LOVED Neela saving Jerry's life. She is obviously going to be an awesome surgeon yay! Although...why didn't Abby ask Neela how her husband's funeral was when she came into the hospital? Meh.

The Sam scanes bored me. I was disgusted by the rape thing though...and she did act well in them but I'm just bored of the Steve storylines now. Glad she killed him!! And as afor Alexbot...the less said the better. "I like Chicago" hmmmmm...

All in all, excellent stuff I thought. Definitely very good to have it back.

i am so glad jerry is ok - his mum is a bit much though!!!
but no one on ER seems to have normal parents!!

got quite emotional for luka and abby - especially when she asked him if one child was enough.

i still cant make myself care that much about sam and fake alex. i wonder if she will get arrested for murder now?

i did think it was a little bit odd that no one asked neela if she was ok - considering she had come from her husbands funeral

i agree it was a brilliant start to the series. i hate to admit i did shed a few tears esp when luka did. i can't wait till next weeks to see if baby is fine i hope so

I loved last night's episode i was going to wait til it was on channel 4 on monday but i couldnt hehe. i was crying st the part when abby was screaming at luka to go and be with joe. she must have felt so helpless. i agree with the poster who put about the david gray song it fitted so well and tht probably made me cry more hehe.
i didnt like the scene with sam i thought it spoiled the episode a bit. you could tell she was going to shoot him after too especially what he had jsut done to her and the fact tht he had kidnapped her and alex. i dont think she will be done for murder because at the end you heard someone say you can say it was self defence becasue to be honest it was. he could have killed her or alex.

But thanks for agreeing about the David Gray thing ER have failed spectacularly before in the music stakes (James Blunt *cough*) but the Snow Patrol and David Gray choices have redeemed them I believe!
Though I would like to hear more of the non-mainstream stuff...(like Rachael Yamagata) again.

ER is seriously amazing, they never fail to impress and grip the audience. Last nights episode was a stunner - made me cry too! i think the original theme tune will be back next week. I was hoping they would play the last episode of last season as thye usually do but they didnt do that - oh well it was still very fresh in my mind!!!! cangt wait until next week!

Original theme tune isn't coming back. The producers changed because they old 90 sec tune detracted from the story to much.

The episode was great and it will be interesting to see how it pans out during the rest of the series.

Yeah...and they just failed to notice this for 12 whole seasons.

She probably had a lot of other things on her mind. Everyone in the hospital was probably too busy thinking about/dealing with what had just happened. That's what I imagined anyway!

Well that completely sucks then doesn't it? i liked the old theme tune better. Made it sound more hospital drama-ey. Now it just sounds like a more weirder version of the X Files theme tune. Or something like that anyway. I forgot about mentioning about Sam being raped. That was sad....and quite disgusting. The gun was right near her when it wwas happening, i don't know why she just didn't react and shoot him before he put his hands on her. I'm glad she shot him, because now that story line is over! Well maybe not for her or Alex, that whole thing may have been quite traumatic for both of them , and is something that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
