I loved this episode. it definately had a bit of christmas spirit in it. for example the Gates/Ray thing to help the pregnant girl.

my favorite part of the whole ep was the story line between Morris and Hope. Morris what were you doing at teh end!? Hope asked you out! Morris in a Santa's outfit to me suited him, just because he was jolly and really sweet to the little girl Greta.

i was shocked to hear that Ames had put a restraining order out on Luka! how dare he?! it him being the creepy guy not Luka. (i may be a little biased...) But i did love Luka dressed as a reindeer very funny Big Grin

im liking the whole ending of all the eps they are all really moving. a great round up of the whole episode.

overall i thought it was an alright ep. 7/10

by the way its really bugging me.... what's Gates first name???? Confused

His first name is Tony.

I really liked this ep (I like them all! lol)
Morris is seriously becoming my favourite character..he is hilarious!! All his lines were brilliant- I especially loved the 'I would wish you a Merry Christmas but I am duty bound to respect the seperation of church and state' Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
He was SO great at the end with Pratt too..when he 'chose humility' Smile (Incidentally, I loved that Pratt mentioned the DID!! Does this mean Morris was really right...brilliant.)

I REALLY don't like Gates. I hated that he lied to Teller...and afterwards when he said 'I promise I'll never do it again'- whatever Gates! He is so insincere and generally just annoying.
Ray's 'tache- *snigger*

There's something fishy going on with Crenshaw..I'm sure we'll find out more soon..

Haha...'McCreamy' cracked me up too- mainly for the reason that when he said 'gotta go' I said to hubby 'Ha, he's so gone off to spank the monkey' and he replied 'Clare don't be disgusting- ER would never be tacky enough to imply that'- I laughed in his face when I was right!! Big Grin

I LOVED the end sequence too...yes it was cheesy but I loved it and I loved the song too. I especially loved the Luby stuff...so cute! And man did that story about the woman who Mercy dumped make my eyes water at the end!
During that sequence my hubby said 'I just want Mark Greene to be there though'...I had to agree. It's not the same without him!!

Finally...Sam's hair is getting ever worse. Nasty colour and rubbishy little fringe. Sort it out Linda. Sam was great having a go at the Mercy lady though Smile

Oh, and wheeeere was Kerry?!

thanks. thats been bugging me since last night... which really isnt too long?!

i have to agree that sam's hair is getting worse but the new nurse likes it... *nudge nudge* Kerry i think is off doing her TV programme. - preview to the next ep made me think that.

yeah i thought that the Mercy lady was a bit of a c0w, and Sam really kicked her behind on the matter!

the Crenshaw think im guessing is that he either has a drinking rpoblem or he takes drugs. it seems the norm.

in the middle of the ep i had warmed up to Gates a little then at the end i disliked him again. you just know he's going to break his promises to Teller and the others methinks also to Neela.

and Ray's 'tache had me in fits!! its like a baby caterpiller on his lip. i shall call it Carl the Caterpiller!

I agree with Clareyfairy. Great review.
Morris has been of the one most interesting characters since Romano's departure. This season he has been the undisputed STAR of the show.
Turning down Hope was all part of his excellent development. Morris has a heart of gold.

Two points: Why do all the Christmas episodes feature pregnancies?
I like Sam's hair.

i thought it was a good episode,
i wish we had seen this episode at chrismas though, it would have put me right in the christmas siprit.

Morris made this eppy. he is fast becoming my favoite character, "she was right there, right there for the fondling" soo funny.

could it not just be possible that Crenshaw was just feeling a bit chrismasy? i realy dont mind him that much

I likied how Sam set the city of mercy staff in line. but here hair is definitely far to over bleached.

it was nice to see Ray and Gates working together (just about)

all in all i liked it alot 8/10

I didn't mean I didn't like Crenshaw...I just think there's something deeper going on with him and they're building us up to it with Morris' speech to him before and now that weird interaction with Neela.

As for Ray & Gates together- it just gets annoying that they both try and be so macho...I loved it when Neela said 'either slap each other silly or kiss and get it over with' Big Grin... they're both too similar! And why does Gates never act like an intern but more like an attending it's so annoying!

wrt Crenshaw - there is something about him which will be revealed in due course - and there's no way any of you will guess what it is!

It's "River", written by Jonu Mitchell but performed in this instance by Sara MacLachlan.

Merry Christmas everyone! Tree
hehe i'm in such an xmassy mood now - is it really march? feels like december Snowman ahh well. Stocking no presents or good will for me this month. Present

(sorry had to use up all the xmas smilies - u don't often get that chance)

another great ER episode - a lot has happened in a year! - everyone remember it was this time last year Abby told Luka she was pregnant - & remember Morris' singing last year too? hehe.

back to this episode... i must be the only one who thought Sam's hair looked quite nice for once - but Abby's looked really nice today i thought. not so sure about Ray's facial hair!! couldn't take him seriously with it! but atleast the goatie has gone.
i'm glad to see Sam getting a new storyline, & glad to see less Pratt in this episode - he's really annoying me this season.

Wasn't too keen on the Greys anatomy reference (McCreamy) - i just don't think ER needs to be doing that.

one last thing: Luka in reindeer antlers was sooo cute!! !

i loved morris in this episode - but the ending when he 'saw santa' was a little OTT!!!

mccreamy made me laugh - mostly cos of neelas reaction to him

talking of neelas reaction - she looked so relieved when dubenko told her she was a good surgeon. i am sure she thought, like me, that he was going to reveal a crush or something!!!

and bless dubenko and his sister.

still not liking gates, i can understand lying to the kid to get him help but he totally should not of lied about paulie being dead.

luby was kinda cute - though really didnt need to see abby in that sexy santa outfit!!

I read on tv.com that when Luka is talking to Abby at the end and says 'when Yasna and the kids died...' it is apparently a scripted mistake (his wife was called Danijela as I found out from Mrs E last week Big Grin) and it is supposed to show Luka's altered state of mind... hmmm. Thoughts anyone? I reckon Abby would have picked up on it if Luka was genuinely making a mistake...

I think it's a contunuity screw up. I feel sure that our attention would have been explicitly drawn to it (probably by Abby; she did after all ask him his wife's name in "A Walk In The Woods" in S7) if it had meant anything more.

Double posting because I can't edit again: I think Luka would have to be downright demented to mix up the names of his wife and daughter and, emotional as he was in this episode, he did not, to me, appear to have taken leave of his senses.

^ agree with you there, he didnt seem at all demented!! just abit emotional.

really is abit crap that none of the writers or actors picked up on that mistake though

Yeah, I thought Luka's wife was called Daniella, so when he said Yasna I was a bit-huh? Anyway, the best part of the ep was Morris and Hope for me Smile Who would've thought Archie would turn Hope down! Gates is still annoying, and Luby were cute @ the end, especially with Luka's antlers and Abby's santa outfit Smile

Yep I agree, they definitley got the names of Luka's family wrong and it was a continuity error. His wife as Mrs Eyre said was Daniejela. This is extremely careless of the writers and shows a disrespect for the audience. Did they think none of the many devoted fans would notice? Do the present TPTB care at all.

A very slushy sentimental episode. The only highlight for me was Dubenko. I loved his scene with Neela.
