I know there are a few people round here that used to watch this and there has been some dicussion over on the discuss 4 forum about it coming back but I didn't know if everyone goes over to that forum too so I thought I'd let anyone who's interestend know. Apparently it will be back on sept 6th at 10.30 (presumably AM).

I loved sick days and study periods at sixth form/school cos fortunately i lived less than 10 mins away so was always able to catch programmes so bad, they were actually quite addictive!

i loved sunset beach- it was highly addictive and each character's weird twisted secrets and actions kept me entertained and made me wnt 2 get up early during summer holidays The voiceover at the end always made me laugh as well...virginia was it and her rice crispie disease?

I always thought Ben and Annie should have ended up together. They were good characters. Meg was so annoying! I'm so looking forward to seeing Derek again though. Shame it's not for a while!
Tim, yeah. Tim was Meg's fiancé. He cheated on her back in Kansas with one of the bridesmaids, the day before their wedding, so she ran away to Sunset Beach, to try to meet the guy she'd been flirting with online (Ben of course). Poor Tim followed her, and after all manner of nasty tricks to try to get Ben out of the picture, eventually fell foul of Derek. He didn't actually die, but he did spend months in a coma during the whole Ben/Derek/chains and handcuffs plot.
Good old Ben and Derek and their chains and handcuffs. I used to have one of Ben's lines from that era of the show as part of my E-mail sig. "Handcuff me! Put me in leg irons if you want!" Guaranteed to break the ice in conversations...

The handcuff plot, yeah. That was pretty cool. I seem to recall liking it when one of them suddenly managed enough strength to break free. But Tim. Jeeze, I hated Tim. I also didn't like the ending much, but I don't know what else I expected...
Had to wrap it up, didn't they, when it was axed. It's a shame, as I'd have liked another half a dozen Derek storylines. It was when he was trying to seduce Meg that Ben found the strength to snap his chains - after about three months of being chained up in that warehouse, with about two meals in all that time.
The "Handcuff me!" line was to Ricardo though. Or Thickardo if you prefer .
I keep putting this link up all over the place lately - General Sunset Beach Nonsense. It's worth a look to recap before the show comes back! She doesn't update it anymore, but I guess that hardly matters now.
Wow! That site certainly brought back some interesting memories. I can't believe I watched that crap! And that I'll probably end up watching it again!
