Haven't been able to watch TV for ages so I've just recently got into ER again towards the end of the recent series (about the time Pratt decides to go to Darfur), and wanted to know what the whole neela/ray situation is about? I hadnt seen the program since the two characters 1st got introduced into the show and didnt get on that well, now that iv rejoined it Neela has lost her husband and is having issues with Ray. Whats going on with that storyline?
Also, anyone know when the new series is going to begin?
Because they were getting too close. Neela at this stage was a newly married woman. It was obvius that there was something about to happen, so Neela wanted to nip it in the bud. When Ray asked her why she was moving out , she said "You know why" and he didn't answer , because he knew.
When Michael died, Pratt stepped in and advised Ray to leave Neela alone for a while. This was partly because Pratt and Gallant had been friends, but also , because, although he knew that Ray genuinely wanted to help, he also knew , as he said to Ray, that it would be too "complicated" for now.
My guess is that they will develop the Ray/Neela thing next season. It makes sense in terms of this season's atmosphere between them, but ER sometimes throws continuity out of the window , and more and more these days, isn't always consistent with present stories making sense in terms of characters' history and past events. So , we shall see.
both parminder nagra (neela) and shane west (ray) have said in a separate interviews they'll be a love triangle involving neela, ray and gates (john stamos who was the paramedic/medical intern who tried it on with her, even whilst nearly dying which is quite impressive last season)
