Depends on the law; here you can start maternity leave from 6 weeks before the expected date of confinement but a lot of women don't start that soon because it keeps the pay up. Abby's only about 28-30 weeks pregnant so has another 10 to 12 weeks to go; that's a long time to be sitting around at home.
