I always wanted to be left handed..it's so much cooler! My Dad is left handed but alas...I did not inherit the gene..

I and the DH are both right handed but his daughter is a leftie and so is our younger son.

So all you scientists/docs out there...is there a genetic reason for it or not? Am interested to know.. I know somebody who is ambidextrous (is that the word...can write with both hands?) I can write quite neatly with my left hand as when I'm bored I practise it

i am left handed. don't worry clare being left handed has been nothing but a pain to me. sitting next to a righty at school and getting elbowed, never being able to use scissors properly, smudging ink everywhere when trying to write with a fountain pen, having to learn the violin right handed, even in cdt they stupid right handed vices. although apparently we do live longer!

I'm right handed but when I poor juice from the bottle or jug I use my left hand, dunno why though. I also used to use my left leg to guide me when I was on my brothers skateboard. My dad is right handed but plays snooker and pool left handed.

Darn you! You stupid edit thing! I was well within the two minute time limit thingy! Anyway what I wanted to add was that when I answer the phone I always put it to my left ear. I can't put it to my right, it makes me go all unco-ordinated if I do. Strange I know but thats me!

Yep. My latest handicap seems to be trying to use a kitchen ladel. I just cannot do it.

I write right-handed and it's my overall stronger hand, but for some bizarre reason I play guitar left-handed. I have no idea why!

Question for you lefty girls- which leg do you shave first? Because someone once told me that all women shave their right leg first.. I've always wondered if it's actually true...

I'm right handed and always do the left one frst.

i shave the left one first,i also pluck my left eyebrow first! i read that if you draw a house with a chimney, lefties will make the smoke go left and righties will make it go right. i tried this experiment on my dad who is also left handed and his smoke went straight up. my conclusion is that my dad is clearly an alien.

Lol - I'm sure he would be happy to here you say that! I'm left handed and agree with all the left handed problems that people have already mentioned - especially scissors, but I can't use left handed ones either!

It's probably because we're now some weird kind of cross breed - left handers in a right handed world!

we should plot a revolt and take over the world! although that sounds a bit tiring. might just have a small nap first.

Wow, righties shaving the left leg first..that is very strange.. I think I always pluck my left eyebrow first...but I'm not sure I think it's just the one that's bothering me most at the time! I always drew smoke going straight up too.. hmm.

I'm right-handed but I seem to be one of those people where even my closest friends just assume I'm left handed. I think that happened to Chandler on 'Friends' once. My best friend, who I've been in a class with since year three, always thought I was left-handed and had worn glasses...it's just odd really...I think there's an idea that left-handed people are more geeky?

Creative maybe, but geeky? I hope not!

Leftys elbow rightys too! (I'm a righty, my best mate at school was a lefty, we had to swap desks in the end because of all the elbowing.)

Wow. 31% left handers. We only rate about 10% of the population as a whole.
Yeah learning how to use right handed can openers and scissors is a pain at first, but lots of the best tennis players, cricketers and artists are left handers - Well, not me I guess I missed out on both sporting and artistic ability, but it's nice to be a bit more exclusive than the common herd of right handers. So let's here it for all us lefties.
