Hey has anyone noticed that the minute characters in ER get pregnant, they leave? Its like the writers in ER can think of anything creative to write in their departures?

I mean look, Carol got pregnant with twins, stuck around for a while but then left to be with Doug Ross.

Jing mei got pregnant, gave up her baby and left.

Elizabeth got pregnant with Emma stayed on for a bit and left when Greene died.

Now Susan has her baby and leaves for some unexplained reason? Now will Abby Morgan leave too? And what with the writers do to explain her departure?

There was quite a stretch between Chen producing and her leaving, ditto Elizabeth. Kerry is still around.

As to whether Abby will leave - all down to contracts and whether that 14th Season gets the go-ahead I think.

I swear elizabeths baby was called Ella.....

I thought that getting crushed by a falling helicopter after already losing an arm to one in previous seasons was a pretty creative way to go.

I know that others have already said that she isn't, but most of the other pregnancies in the ER were real. Sherry Stringfield, Alex Kingston and Ming-Na Wen were certainly really pregnant at the time. but I don't think that Julianna Margulies, who played Carol, was reallly pregnant, though I'm not sure. Mostly they've written story lines to accommodate actrices getting pregnant. It's quite unusual to invent a pregnancy in ER. As far as I know MauraTierney is married, but has no interest in having children. Again, an MT fan could correct me on that one if I'm wrong. The only family I can give you chapter and verse on is Noah Wyle's . He has two children, but he didn't leave ER because he was pregnant.

Good point, what has actually happened to Susan? I was just thinking yesterday how pregnant Abby (LOCKHART) was looking all of a sudden, anyone know how far she's supposed to be now?

Julianna Margulies wasn't pregnant and has no children. Maura Tierney isn't pregnant and has said that children have never figured in her plans.

What has happened to Susan? She left to take a tenured position at another hospital; Sherry Stringfield decided during the last hiatus that she wasn't coming back, hence her rather precipitous departure.

I think Abby is supposed to be about 28-30 weeks along by the finale.

Well, he did put some weight on around season 10/11 and then he took it off again just before his little girl was born, so you never know!! (although I think his wife Tracy might object to my giving him the credit for giving birth to his kids - lucky kids!)

Owen is 3. Noah's wife Tracy had a little girl this Autumn, who is about 7 or 8 months old now. Her name is Auden, apparently after the poet W.H.Auden. So, so far there are two little Wyles.

Who do you think will be the next ER member to be pregnant or be expecting a child...my guess is Pratt and I have no idea why!

If they wanted to be realy unoriginal, it would be Neela (although I have no idea how long Gallant was supposed to have been away so may not work....)but that would be silly because I'm sure we've all seen that sort of storyline before.....Or maybe she'll get pregnant after a consolatory 1 night stand with Ray.... (btw, definitely not a spolier, just me mischevious little imagination....!)

lol it did kinda read like thats what I meant lol..no i just think one of these girls he's been seeing will turn round n be pregnant.
