what i didn't understand about the programme was -- what have governments got to gain by perpetuating the co2 emmissions 'myth' -- if indeed it is one? i mean, surely if there's a shred of creditable evidence to suggest that climate change is not being caused by humans, they would seize on it -- they don't really WANT to have to reduce co2 emissions after all.
i know there were a couple of arguments in the programme about scientists protecting their jobs and the like, but they seemed to me rather flimsy..
Government and politicians thrive on control. An issue like global warming gives politician more control over every aspect of our lives an control of private industry/private property. Plus global warming isn’t a local issue. It is global, so countries like France would have the ability to claim the UK is harming them and therefore have some control over what the UK does.
They have created a brand new industry and are trading carbon credits - in effect selling air (almost) literally.
They now have the means to introduce new taxes so that the general public pay for the costs associated with the economic consequences of this man-made global warming lie.
And as we know once taxes are introduced they do not stop so we will be paying for years to come.
1. Nuclear Power - which gives them nuclear weapons. 2. And end to cheap fossil fuels and a monopoly on power supplies. 3. A limit of the technological development of other coutries to sustain their own domination of the world. 4. New taxes and increases in prices. 5. Focus on C02 so that all the other pollution can carry on without any fuss. 6. Confuse and bamboozle the general public so they can do what the hell they like, including the very global warming friendly use of carpet bombing, use of cruise missiles and so on!
Why would we believe what Blair and Bush say when their 'experts' were the ones that led us into war in Iraq for weapons of mass destruction that didn;t even exist?
What would George Orwell have to say about global warming I wonder?

Exactly dawby.
And they're not finding that evidence so they have to be 'creative' with the science.
