Hey Gary, I know. How bloody frustrating is it! I do hope the embassy can help in some way and I would be happy to pass on my details to the production company, if they're allowed to pass it on! Even if it means I have to get my dad to write my letters for me, there's got to be some way to help. Our money is still an awful lot for them out there, so even £10 a month will help out. And that's more than I pay to weight watchers....
I've mailed to a media company in China and I'm waiting for a reply. I've also considered contact with HSBC (was the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd), but this would be my last resort. Though they used to be hot on 'cultural exchange' things before Hong Kong reverted back to China and the bank 'upped stakes' and became UK based. However, I don't know what their current policy is on this kind of issue at present day.
i am also looking to see if there is any form of assistance i can give huang.i was left unsure if the production company themselves had given any financial assistance.also i urge channel 4 to recommission a follow up as many people seem to have felt a cut off having become attached emotionally to the story of this remarkable man.in the film there also seemed alot of interet in huangs story from the chinese media and i have wanted to believe that philanthropists would look upon his case. however there must be a postal address where gifts and letters of friendship and support can be sent.
Maybe we have to all get on a plane and go see him ...Nice idea if only we could afford to ..We could give the man a big hug let him know that there are people who admire him and want to take some of his pain and suffering away.
I used to have an open mind ..but my brains kept falling out
Oxfam, British Red Cross, Comic Relief are all people who have replied to say they can't help. The embassy haven't replied yet and the production company has replied yet to say if they'll pass on my details. ARGH! so frustrating.
Glad to see that you are still trying to pursue this, sorry again that we couldn’t be any more help.
On a different note, the folks at The TV Show would like to hear your views on the programme I Am The Elephant Man. Contact them on thetvshow@channel4.com. If it’s your sort of thing, maybe record a video or audio clip and send that in, so they can incorporate it into the show on May 10.
Currently the bookies’ favourites for the debates on Saturday 10th look likely to focus on Cutting Edge: Strictly Baby Fight Club and Dispatches: Immigration – the Inconvenient Truth. But the debates are never set in stone until a day or two before the show and are pretty likely to change again. So if you’ve got and idea for a debate let us know. Find the latest info here.

Hey all! May finally (finally!) have some good news. Have got some positive feedback from a US, Hong Kong and China based charity who may be willing to administrate. I'm currently in touch with a charity collecting group here as well.
I am not going to get hopes up too high as the production company still has to step up and pass details on, which I'm not too sure if they can...but it's a start anyway!!
