More than 400 scientists have in the past year alone challenged claims that global warming is caused by man, according to a report published last week by some of President George W Bush's allies in the US Senate...
Its authors say that they quote eight times as many scientists as the IPCC report published last year, which insisted there was a scientific consensus.
Panel member David Wojick, is quoted saying: "The public is not well served by this constant drumbeat of false alarms fed by computer models manipulated by advocates."
It looks as though the scientific consensus on AGW is not as robust as we have benn led to believe. Why is the media mostly silent about this?
Disclaimer: The following scientists named in this report have expressed a range of views from skepticism to outright rejection of predictions of catastrophic man-made global warming. As in all science, there is no lock step single view
because many of the views are concerned with media hyping of "catastrophic" changes. These views are exactly the same as I've heard from contributors to the IPCC report who hold the "consensus" view.
It's amusing they compare their number of 400 "scientists" with the 52 scientists who contributed to the IPCC summary reports. It's unlikely that the 52 scientists who wrote the summary would get away with writing a report that disagreed substantially with the 1000-odd pages written in collaboration the other 2448-odd scientists.
Of course it would be nice if they had an alternative viewpoint that had better scientific evidence that they could agree on.
