It just occured to me:

There is no debtate on the GW issue, why?

If as I think the Government should fund a very public debate on the GW issue with scientists paid by the public to explore both sides of the argument AND seek to thoroughly test the theories then...

then GW could become an undisputed fact and all parties will have to agree on the way forward and most likely adopt very similar environment policies...

then no more votes can scored off each other by the succession of barmy policy advances we are currently seeing...

then they'll have to think of something else to scare us with...

which is far too much effort for them.
