Quite curious about this, seems to me the only reason to mistrust Monbiot is if you disagree with his politics. After all, who here can cite any occasion on which Monbiot has lied or provably mislead his public? Nobody can, I bet. Not sure you can really say the same about Martin Durkin though. With the best will in the world, he seems a dubious film-maker.

Your assumption is correct, mistrust of Monbiot should indeed be based on disagreement with his politics. Otherwise we get into backbiting and slurring, something which far too many people on this forum seem to be willing to lower themselves to when it comes to Martin Dirkin. It is a shame debate is reduced to such school-boy tactics. It makes me want to hear far more from Martin Dirkin.
