The IPCC have just issued a 23 page summary "synthesis" of their findings over the past few years.

Anyone see any cheery bits?

Aye. Looks like extractus digitus should be the modus operandi.

Why would there be any cheery bits?

It is not in the IPCC's interest to give any cheery bits and I certainly don't expect any thing recycled by environmentalists such as "desmogblog.com" to present anything approaching a balanced relfection of any report.

Why would desmogblog need to give an unbalanced relection of a report when that report is already unbalanced (IYO of course)?

Sort of like beer: double filtered for extra bias!

Why would there be any cheery bits?

Mubbers - what's known in the trade as a "rhetorical question".

Sort of like beer: double filtered for extra bias!

You implying it's too cautious? That it hasn't taken into account the latest research on sea ice, etc?

No I'm implying that if there were any "cheery bits" in the IPCC report then they certainly wouldn't have been included in the 5 minute summary.

But I'm sure you realised that anyway Wink
