In light of the effect that apparently man-made CO2 or other gases is having on our planet, I would like to suggest a list of heroes and villians in relation to climate change.

Watt, Trevithick, Brunel, Stephenson(s), Arkwright, Cartwright, Faraday, Davy, Newton, Diesel, Benz, Whittle, Nobel and others have all enhanced our lives through their developments/inventions. However many of these inventions have through their increased use contributed significantly to the position where we are now.

Hilter, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao and others have all tried to reduce the population of the world and with in the amount of CO2 etc that these unfortunate victims would have produced if they had lived.

If one removes ethics and morals etc then who are heroes or villians now ?

Before anyone wants to string me up, I am certainly not suggesting that we should propose wholescale murder for anyone we don't like and I am certainly not suggesting these people were correct, it just puts a different light on things if you think laterally Smile

I think you make a good point here. The mysterious mechanism of controlling CO2 emission can become not so mysterious if we have Hitler or Stalin who can get rid of people at their whims and fancies (like humans are to be blamed for global warming)
