This is a pretty comprehensive site answering all skeptical views on climate change. Also allows views from readers on the articles. Should answer any question skeptics have out there.

600m cars
3,500m cows

As each cow causes as much warming as a car - where is the call to ban cattle?

Doesn't say much about how significant con trails are either.

Which is bizarre as the climate changed measurebly in the us over one month following 911.

Maybe the scientists like climate change conferences in hiliday resorts?

I believe climate change is happening

i am just not sure how much of it is man's doing

and i know we have another 30,000 years of NATURAL GW before it gets cooler again.

And considering the oil won't last another century - maybe all these fine minds would be better converting all their hot air into new technology?

Maybe it is a question skeptics don't bring up.

That's right, it got warmer as less planes flew over the us for those three days after 9/11.

So all that carbon that was stored in the coal seams and oil wells for millions of years, now in the atmosphere. Don't you think it could have an effect.

Before or after we destroy the earth?

Wierd that.

It may be that c02 is just a red herring and its that hazt blanket of man made cloud in the upper atmpophere that is causing the trouble?

remember - they used to used heroin to wean addicts off morphine....

We don't always make the right conclusion

Possible, or it may be stimulating the plants into more vigorous growth to balance it out.

Dynamic equibrilibrium.

considering our ancestors have lived through a dozen ice ages since we came down from the trees - the total destruction of the biosphere seems rather unlikely.

Considering the earth's cooling/warming cycle, we should be going through a cooling period, but instead, we are doing the opposite. Seems to me we are on the right road for total destruction.

That isn't a ban though. You can use your car for a fee.

Oh i do agree there.

we should be renting the rainforests to keep from mcdonalds, irrigating the sahara back to life and genrally planting more trees.

Good question, maybe in this country. My friends in Czechland are boiling. But read the link, you can't extrapolate from one summer.

How so?

is there a model for the breakdown of life on earth?

Its not as if an ice age every 120 aeons hasn't had a good go.

I find it funny that when it's hot it's "Global Warming" and when it's cold it's "Climate Change".
And anyway, I don't belive turning off your TV will save the world when you have countries like China and America pumping billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide into the air everyday with huge factories.

I wonder what the consequences of something like that would do to the weather, globally.

It is pure human arrogance to think that we have the capability to destroy all life on earth. The effect we can have on the environment is tiny compared to what nature can come up with.

We could detonate every nuclear weapon on earth and burn every drop of oil and coal yet we wouldn't create even a fraction of the devastation caused by the Chicxulub impact yet life managed to survive that and we would not be here if it had not happened.

Frankly, there's nothing in that to change my opinion either way. It's basically a meta-analysis of opinion that fits the poster's argument.

We can all do that Smile I haven't read anything there that I haven't read before...

It's a site that covers main questions relating to climate change with detailed analysis of the answers. It even features questions from skeptics disputing some of the answers. To me, that's pretty comprehensive. But hey, if you choose to be ignorant, who's to argue...
