I think he has some talent yes, but I do prefer the early stuff. The early series of spoof documentaries he did where him and a woman played all sorts of eccentric couples was very good. I haven't seen Gavin and Stacey yet.
The stand up looked pretty poor to be totally honest.
Yes I do agree about the earlier stuff and then there was the series where he played a taxi driver separated from his sons, his 'little smashers' That had two peoples names as a title too.
Marion and Geoff if I'm not mistaken. I like the guy, he always does well on Celeb -Panel -Quiz- Type shows where ad libbing is the order of the day. Sorts the men from the boys, that kind of show.
But what happenned to his pal Steve Coogan? He was once the funniest bloke on the planet in [my opinion], but where is he now? His film Tristran Shandy is possibly the least funny film I have ever seen [With the exception of Schindlers List].
Rob Brydon is a pain in the backside. He thinks he has comic talent where i find him one big bore. His compering of that recent award ceremony was so cringeworthy I had to switch off.
I am really looking forward to reading the posts which will come on here when POG starts his turn on Monday.
It will be interesting to see the SAME guests appearing as he has had before, that stupid tea woman/cleaner or whatever she is supposed to be and I wonder if the organ game will make an appearance. This is one show that I find really boring, most of the time and, as I have said before, I only watch very seldom. The audience is loud, laugh at nothing and rather than go on the POG website and moan I just watch, or find something else to do.
Look forward to viewing again in June when R&J return. Why should they be taken off just because a few people come on this forum to suggest they should be.They have one more series and I will view every show. I expect POG will be moving elsewhere in the not to distant future.
12trees this is only your opinion, and I respect that you are entitled to it, BUT not everybody thinks the same as you do and therefore all views, likes and dislikes, should be catered for not only by Channel4 but all programme providers. I understand that some of the BBC television and radio programmes have a low number of viewers, listeners BUT they have to accomodate all peoples. As I posted here a few months ago, and again recently,in reply to comments similar to yours there are viewers that do enjoy the show and should be entitled to view and enjoy.Surely people who say they hate them, complain, think they are "over the hill" could find an alternative for one hour while the programme is on. Is this really too much to ask? I do not enjoy POG much and gues who is his guest AGAIN on his first show tonight. Yes that is correct CILLA BLACK who is no longer a "scouser" although she makes out she is. I will not be watching this evening BUT I will not be going on his forum to complain to wind up his viewers as I accept it his his turn to be on Channel4 from 5pm-6pm.
It is a shame that this forum has deteriorated over the last few years because it used to be more of a friendly place and people were respectful.
I will not blame the serious decline on this. lovely country on the government but I do think they have a lot to answer to.
It is "I want so I must have" even it means stealing from others to achieve this.
Teachers, policeman.fireman, nurses, ambulance drivers who are the pillars of the community are not given any respect which they deserve and all the government can do is take, take, take and mostly give it to themselves.
Oh no, not Cilla Black! I read something the other day where she tried to make out that Scotland Road in Liverpool was like a cross between a mafia village and a war zone when she was growing up. What utter rubbish. She's forever mythologising her past - like her 'close' friendship with The Beatles. Funny how none of them seems to have wanted much to do with her for the past forty years!

Well two of the Beatles have not been dead for FORTY years and the awful Paul has not been in the divorce court for more than a year although it seems like we have been having them both stuck down our throats forever.
