Looking at the terms and conditions for the virgin flights used by the R&J compos they could be replaced by one sentence: "Teachers need not bother entering".

All school holidays are excluded and, as a teacher, I'm contracturally forbidden from taking time off outside of the hols so, in line with all other teachers I'm excluded from entering R&J competitions like the the latest one to the california wine district.

Sour grapes? you bet!

Are there any other groups or occupations that find these rules shut them out as well?

Never mind, it has saved you the £1 or whatever the phonecall costs.

teachers are by the large part unsung heros. im not a teacher myself, but anybody with half a brain can work out for the most part its a pretty rubbish job with rubbish pay, but without them we'd all be well stuck.

I'm a full time carer looking after my mother she/we get 4 weeks a year respite but i usually use that time to catch up on unfinished jobs and taking extra care of my father who is also ill. Besides i couldn't afford to go anywhere if i wanted Carers Allowance is pitiful. Don't get me started or i'll start whingeing too.
