They are having an item today named The Parking Ticket Awards. This will be right up Tricky's street feeding into his Health & Safety and Political Correctness obsessions.

If you don't want a ticket don't park anywhere you want. Likewise speed cameras (which I'm surprised we haven't had a feature on) if you don't want a fine don't do the speed. The car lobby gets away with far too much.

I absolutely agree with you 12trees. No doubt Richard will be regaling us today with tales of his motoring past and his ability to do 100mph on a motorway eating a cheese sandwich and clipping his toenails at the same time while being fully in control of his vehicle! Big Grin

What a thoroughly disorganised item that was. If I was the author of that book I would be somewhat peeved that the segment barely featured or had much to do with his book at all. What was the point in the other two guests as well? They uttered about three sentences each while Dick banged on about the traffic warden's pay structure.

It would of been far nicer to drop the two guests and that last clip of the traffic warden getting beaten up, and just have a nice chat with the author specifically about his book and perhaps some of his other award books as well. The R&J producers dropped the ball with this one.

For the first time I find myself in agreement with Tartly Brewer!!!

As regards the performace artist who dressed as a traffic warden and asked people to hit him - I wonder if the reaction would be any different if he dressed up as Richard Madeley. I'd certainly be first in line.

Won't ever happen - things have to fit in with Tricky's 'agenda'.

Well it was a pretty dreadful show today wasn't it?

Katie Price. Why? Pointless!!!

Is Kevin O'Sullivan the new Nick Ferrari?

I'm surprised that even R & J endorse Jordan.
With respect, she is nothing more than a woman's chest.
That's it.

That didn't come out right!
I meant her only talent is her chest.
Sorry, Jordan.

Jordan is unique and a multimillionairess. There are plenty women with big chests who do not make it in showbiz.

In what way is Jordan “unique”? Don’t make me laugh! She is a perfect example of today’s “Jade Goody” culture as somebody with absolutely zero talent who has become a multi-millionaire.
Does anybody seriously think she’s capable of writing a novel?
Does anybody think she can sing?
Did she slave away in a laboratory for months on end trying to perfect the scent that exemplifies her “personality”? I think not!
She gets paid a fortune by a perfume company for simply putting her name to the product and appearing on progs like R&J.

I have no idea why the press is so obsessed with her and her tawdry lifestyle. Her admirers say she’s a good mother. So what? There are millions of good mothers out there who don’t get lavished with the sort of attention she gets.

As far as I’m concerned, her only dubious claim to fame is as a woman who acquired over inflated silicon mammaries and has been milking it ever since.(pardon the pun Big Grin)

Speed cameras and traffic wardens are just another example of an "easy pinch" on those who are law abiding and decent. Someone who may have been doing 33 MPH in a 30 or gone five minutes over their time on a parking meter does not deserve the punishment given out by commission hungry, power crazed men and women who failed to get into the police force.

Parking meters and speed cameras are just "cash cows" for the Council and the police. Neither do anything to stop maniacs and petrol heads from from causing mayhem.

Very true. We all know they are a necessary evil but some of them are way over zealous, and as you say easy pickings for Councils.

Good luck to the councils I say. Make them pay for speeding and parking where they like.

It's just as easy to do 29mph as it is to do 33mph. If people are stupid enough to go over the speed limit, if only by a couple of miles, then they deserve to be fined.

The rules are there for everyone to observe and if people abide by the law with regard to speeding and parking; then they'll NEVER have to contribute to the council's coffers.

Hypothetical situation for you to consider Occ:

Dr Crippen to the Lord Chief Justice Lord Alverstone, in the No. 1 Court of the Old Bailey.

You've never ever made a mistake then I take it your honour?

I think some of the posters on here should check their dictionary for the definition of "sanctimonious".
