On his 1999/2000 Millenium Show the lights suddenly blacked out just before midnight. Norton: "Oh God, Oh God it's the Millenium Bug" Pause (listens to his earpiece): "Panic over, Vanessa has just turned on her electric blanket"
Norton can be a bit "same old same old", but reasonably entertaining if you haven't seen him on telly for awhile.
I thought it was apt though that his new show is to be called "I'd Do Anything". When it comes to reality 'talent' searching' type shows, I don't there is anything that BBC/ITV/C4 wouldn't do.
Oh, that Norton - the comedian whose BBC contract with not only him but also his whole production company the Daily Mail calculates to include every payment, with every add-on and percentage incentive over a five year period depending on all projects and their subsequent success, and then announces as a fixed, immediate guaranteed fee. Oh, him. No opinion, really.
He's such a grubby, revolting and unsavoury little man - which is why I like him. Famously, before he became known, he worked as a waiter. He used to put a towel round his head and race around pretending to be Mother Theresa. I like that.
