I drove up the M5 and M4 last week and was stunned to read the signs "Check your fuel levels". Haven't we got enough to concentrate on with the roadsigns and speed cameras without being treated like 10 year olds.

It's probably to stop people trying to claim compensation when they run out of petrol and are stuck on the hard shoulder.
"Well, no one told me to check I had enough petrol!"
