Not sure what you mean by a bumpy ride Amanda. If its the singing of Nessun Dorma over and over I agree. Surely there is some other lovely aria they could choose from his vast repertoire.
Do you think he has influenced many to delve into opera or other classical music? I doubt it.
I think I saw her recently or did I dream it or was it yet another reshowing of that ghastly Yorkshireman' programme. (One way to avoid the zappers, don't name people) She is 140 years old.

I watched the Arena programme about Pavarotti last night. Only thing is, why oh why does Bono have to get his mug everywhere? Every time you turn on the TV, there's Bono, with his stupid cap and stupid wrap-around shades, giving it out on any subject you care to name.
Nope. I saw Pav a few times, and it was always a great event. I think it was at the ROH, in Tosca, when he was supposed to fall down. They packed the stage with mattresses, arranged for a wall to 'embrace' his fall, and he still shook the place. But what a voice. Wonderful.

Yes, I don't know why, as she actually was born close to where I live but I can't stand her. She's just so over the top and full of herself. It's very unusual for me to take against someone but I certainly have against her!
i second that ...a great singer...RIP, Luciano Pavarotti xxx

I think if a hen could speak, it would sound like her.

I'd love to have seen him. Apparently the funeral is this afternoon.
