Razz Morning boysmama. Yes, the dog is having the time of his life and enjoying his "holiday". Had a better night's sleep last night, thank goodness and am not so itchy this morning. However, the rash is still quite painful. We had a beautiful day here yesterday weatherwise. It's a little bit dull this morning but looks as though it's going to clear. Let's hope so. I live in North Lincolnshire boysmama - "pea country" or so they call it as we have a large Birds Eye factory a few miles away! Hope you have a lovely day and thanks again for your good wishes. Hug

Big Grin Hi boysmama. Pleased to you a nice day yesterday. It was beautiful here. Not bad today but more cloud and quite windy at times, although very warm when the sun's out. I've nearly finished "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" and am really enjoying it now I've got into it. You'll make it yet! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hug

Big Grin Morning boysmama. Wet and soggy first thing but it's brightening up now. I still took doggie for his walk and we both ended up soaking wet - don't think he was too keen to go this morning and being a Westie and white, looked a bit of a mess when we got back. Dried him off and he's fast asleep now. Lucky fellow. Nearly finished "Memory Keeper's Daughter", only about 10 pages to go.
Funnily, enough, I've never read any of the Harry Potter books or seen any of the films (perhaps cos my boys are 30 this year) and I haven't any excuse to see them! Maybe when my grandchildren get a bit older, I will be able to take them. Hope you have a decent day, in spite of the weather. Hug

hi muggy!
i has been raining and miserable all day today!!
yes, the doggie is a lucky fellow,eh?
how are you feeling today...?
i only read the Harry Potter books because they were passed on to me while i was working in a pub in Henley in 2000...we didn't have any real time off to do anything at first..so spent all of our spare time reading...
i'm not kidding..some of our locals were reading the books too..and they were grown men in suits too...! Big Grin lol...
it was quite comical to see them siting there with their pints, nose in books....hehe...
i am glad that you have managed to get through the MK Daughter book..i can't believe how long it is taking me to get through it!
oh well, i will get there soon...what are you going to read next then?
have a good evening...
take care xxx

Smile Morning boysmama. Much better morning here, sunshine and a couple of light showers so far. I'm just trying to picture men in suits, with a pint, reading a Harry Potter book - that made me smile, thank you. Big Grin I have actually finished the "Memory Keeper's Daughter" and although I think it will probably upset me, am going to give "Damaged" by Cathy Glass a try. It was given to me by the same lady who gave me the "Memory Keeper's Daughter". Her husband apparently belongs to a book club and is an avid reader and when my husband told her that I loved reading, she has bombarded me with so many books that I have had to take about four boxes of them to various Charity Shops!! They're all hard back books too - very expensive. I have a bookcase full but just can't keep all of them. I bought her a large box of chocolates to say thank you and she was quite offended - said she didn't want anything for them. She could probably make herself quite a lot of money if she sold them on E Bay but I suppose some people can't be bothered with that. I hope you have a great day and that the weather is better for you as well!! Hug

morning muggy!
sorry i didn't post yesterday..the forums were really slow...
anyway, i agree...if those books are hardback.they could be worth a bit of money..it is a bit silly that the lady try and sell them on Ebay first...
i prefer to read paperbacks myself...unless it is non-fiction..
i try and sell on Ebay, but it doesn't always turn out to be the profiteering venture it should be..
hidden charges etc...
and it is an online marketplace, so like car boot sales..everyone wants it for nothing..
oh well..each to their own, i guess..
anyway, how are you doing? i hope that you are better...
i hope that you have had a great walk with the dog!
i haven't heard of the book, "Damaged"..i will look it up later...
hope you like it...
don't tell me anything, but was it a good ending on MKDaughter? i hope so...i know it will quite heart-wrenching...but i will have to wait and see...i will let you know when i have finished it..!
have a good day, and enjoy your reading..
take care xxx Hug Big Grin

Cool Afternoon boysmama. I agree, this Forum is exceedingly slow at the moment, it's positively boring just waiting to post! I'm feeling much better thanks and was out with doggie at 6.30 this morning and again at 10.00 for two long walks. It's sunny here today but there is a rather a cool wind - doesn't feel much like August. My son's picking the dog up tomorrow as he arrives back from Turkey quite late today and as he lives about 30 miles from me, I didn't expect him to collect the dog late this evening. I'll really miss him when he goes as he's such good company - follows me everywhere. I was talking it over with my husband and we would consider keeping him but, unfortunately, our cat won't come in while the dog is here (even though he's used to cats as he lives with them) so it makes us feel mean that the cat has been basically living and being fed and watered in the Garage for over two weeks! As my son works full time and his partner now works part time, obviously I've got more time for him. Anyway, I think he (the dog) has really enjoyed his holiday. Enjoy the rest of your day Hug I'm not going to give you a clue about the MK's Daughter as it would probably spoil it for you. Damaged is a true story by a lady who has been a foster carer for over 10 years about a particular little girl who came into her care because no-one else could cope with her. I only started reading it last night and although I know it's going to upset me, unfortunately these things happen in life and we can't turn a blind eye to them. However, I think it has a happy ending.

hi muggy! thanks for that..i will have to keep anticipating the ending of that book now!!..lol! Wink
glad to hear that you are feeling better...
i was going to suggest that you get another dog of your own..but i didn't realise that you had a cat...oh dear!..i expect he will glad to come back indoors!but don't feel mean..im sure he will forgive you soon.. Wink
i am glad that the dog has had a nice little holiday...you have certainly enjoyed having him that's for sure...and i agree, it would be kinder for him to be with you..but as your son lives so far away...it is difficult...
oh well...
anyway, Damaged sounds interesting..i might give it a go myself sometime...i am going to get through the Harry Potter books after MKDaughter...

Smile Morning boysmama. Lovely here this morning - let's hope it keeps that way. Was out early with the dog and he's crashed out on the floor beside me now! Done some washing and hoovered up, so having a few minutes break. My cat's just been in the garden to see me and have a bit of a fuss, so I'm sure he'll be back in as soon as the dog goes home. Hope you have a great day and get some decent weather. Hug

hiya muggy!
how has your weekend been? the weather has been awful here...but it did stay dry enough today for my eldest son to have a trip to the park, with his daddy - no.2 son was having a nap, while i cleaned up!
we have had some time to chill out this weekend, and that has been nice...and i have managed to read a few more pages of the MKDaughter...!
how are you getting on with your book?
i bet it's quiet without your son's dog now, eh?
hope you are ok...
enjoy your evening! Smile Hug

take care xx

Smile Morning boysmama. Pleased you had a "chilled out" weekend. Weather was horrible here, particularly yesterday - cool and very wet! You're right, I really missed the dog when my son took him home on Friday. The cat decided he liked it in the Garage and was reluctant to come in at first. However, he's now settled and is fast asleep in the Conservatory at the moment. I'm still reading "Damaged" and can't believe what some parents do to their own children (it's a true story) but I'm going to carry on until the end, even though it's a bit harrowing. Enjoy your Monday and hope the weather's decent for you Hug

hiya muggy!
i am actually getting through theMKDaughter now...and it is getting better...it is a bit weird how it jumps a few years at a time..it's almoat as if was watching a movie...
but yes, it isn't bad..i am intrigued as to how this book will end....
i think that you should try Harry Potter too, muggy...just to lighten things up a bit, what do you think? Wink
the book you're reading now, as good as it maybe, seems a bit heavygoing..but i will give it a try myself sometime...
anyway, how are you doing? i hope that you are well..
this weather is awful again,eh?
i wonder if it has something to do with Hurricane Deal? we do get tailbacks from them occasionally, don't we?
have a great evening...

Wink Hi boysmama, nice to hear from you. Weather today has been grey and miserable - very depressing but no rain thankfully! I've got a couple of light books to follow
"Damaged" and as much as it's quite harrowing, there is some humour in it too! 5 weeks today and I'm going to the Costa Del Sol for a week, so am hoping for some sun there! Suppose we're lucky with the weather compared to the people in the path of Hurricane Dean. Think it's true that English people are obsesssed with the weather. Enjoy your evening and speak to you soon Hug
