Big Grin Evening boysmama. Sorry you had no sun today, I noticed that the South East was going to get the worse weather! It's been absolutely glorious here today. I cut the lawns at the back and the front and did some weeding - tiring myself out in the process. However, I managed to get an hour on my Lounger this afternoon with a nice glass of chilled white wine. Think the forecast generally for the next three days is good, so fingers crossed. My cat is doing fine and comes in occasionally for some food and drink and a bit of fuss but still keep going to his little bed in the Garage. Very strange!! I'm going to have my holiday in September and then make a decision about whether to have a dog. I'd love one and my husband says it's up to me but they take a lot more looking after than a cat as you probably know. Hope you have a nice evening. Speak to you soon. Take care Hug

evening muggy! Big Grin Hug
glad you have had some good weather!! and making the most of it too!! Cool
we had some sun today...yippee!!! at about 5pm...
still..i took my boys out to have a late - ish tea , by way of a small picnic at the park...
it was very nice...
yes, i know what you mean about dogs....i miss having one around...
i grew up with a dog in the house for many years...and so it is a bit quiet without one...well, almost....of course i was forgetting the children for a moment..lol!
anyway, once we get a garden...maybe when my youngest is a little bit older..we will be getting a dog...
but i am glad that you are thinking of it...your son's doggie really had an impact on you,eh? Big Grin
dogs are great companions, cats can be lovely and friendly too...just not in the same way as a dog...
well, let me know what you decide anyway...
i hope that you have a lovely holiday in Spain...
take care xxx Hug

Wink Morning boysmama. Pleased you got some sun yesterday even it was late in the day! I've actually looked after my son's Westie since he was a puppy as my son worked full time. I altered my hours at work and worked afternoons, so I could look after the dog and take him for walks in the mornings - it was pretty hectic for me actually. I don't personally think you should have a dog if you work full-time but my son's partner at the time wanted a puppy and so she got one! When they parted, they nearly came to blows over custody of the dog but my son won! He lived locally at that time and only moved 30 miles away when he met his current partner. Luckily, he has a good job and managed to get a transfer to another branch of the Company he works for and, obviously, took the doggie with him. I'm not going to make a decision until after my holiday but will let you know the outcome. Hope you and your family have a great weekend. Hug
PS - I've finished Damaged and I was wrong, it doesn't have a happy ending so thought I'd better warn you.

Smile Mornng boysmama. Nice to hear from you again. Sorry you're not feeling well. Should go to the Doctor's if pain killers not working. It could be an allergy. Had a lovely weekend here weatherwise - sunny but not particularly hot. Took Mum out on Sunday and had a lovely pub lunch which was nice.
I'm now reading A Crowded Marriage by Catherine Alliott and it's so funny in places, it's actually made me laugh out loud, which is unusual. A lovely light read after Damaged and The Memory Keeper's Daughter. Pity I can't get some of my books to you as I have way too many! Hope you have a decent day and that your health improves. Hug

Cool Morning boysmama. Not heard from you for a while. Hope you're feeling better. Just finished A Crowded Marriage by Catherine Alliott and have to say it's the best book I've read for ages. Gives you that "feel good" feeling! Would recommend it for anyone with a sense of humour.

Afternoon boysmama. Pleased you're feeling a bit better. Sorry to hear about your little one's hernia but I'm sure he'll be OK. Nice that your other boy enjoyed starting school. It must be a nightmare for parents when their children don't want to go. Luckily, my two loved school, although one of them said that he would have preferred to stay at Play School. Can't say I blame him really! Hope you have a nice weekend. Weather not as good here today, warm but rather cloudy. It was absolutely beautiful yesterday - very warm and wall to wall sunshine. Looking after my son's Westie again for a few days, as they're having a new kitchen fitted and it will be quieter here for him. Looking forward to the exercise as I've put a few pounds on lately and would like to lose them before my holiday (especially as we're going All Inclusive which tends to make me a bit "piggy") Speak to you soon Hug

the weather has been up and down here too...it is nice blue skies today...a bit fresh, walking to school this morning..but lovely!
i have finished the Half-blood Prince and i have started on the Deathly Hallows...the final Harry Potter book! i remember when i finished reading the Goblet of Fire (book 4)7 years ago, i heard that things were going to get darker as the books went on..and they have...lost some good characters too!
but anyway, i will be both glad and sad to reach the end of this book...i am eager to know what happens...

hope you have a great holiday...

Morning boysmama. Nice to hear from you and pleased to hear than you are on the mend! I'm reading "Don't Tell Mummy" another harrowing true story, I must be a glutton for punishment. I go on my holidays two weeks today and am really looking forward to it. Didn't get much of a holiday last year as my Dad was very poorly and I was running around after him and my Mum and working as well. Unfortunately, he passed away in March this year (a blessing really as he had developed dementia and didn't even really know why I was towards the end). I've been out with the dog at 6.30 today and although it was chilly, very sunny and peaceful. Hope you have a great day. Speak to you soon. Hug

i was 5 months gone when he went....
is your son's dog still with you? he seems to have a lovely time at yours, eh? Big Grin

Cool Hi boysmama. Nice to hear from you and pleased you're feeling a bit better. My son picked up the dog this morning so I'm "dog less" today. However, I'm really tired (don't sleep too well) so am going to have a quiet afternoon. It was awful about my dad but he was a good age and had a long life, so that's something. It must have been worse for you, losing your dad when you were pregnant. Another sunny day here but a chill in the air. Hug I wouldn't advise you to read "Don't tell Mummy". I found it quite depressing, especially as it's a true story and if it hadn't been given to me, I wouldn't have bought it. I should stick to something more cheerful if I was you!
Hope you have a great weekend and speak to you soon. Only 10 more days to my holiday. Hooray. :

hiya muggy! Hug
I bet it was quiet after your son’s dog went home, eh?
I had a good weekend, how about you?
I spent as much of Saturday, as I could, reading, so I have finally finished Harry Potter!!...no more Harry Potter books to read now, unless JK Rowling decides to write some kind of spin-off series.."The adventures at Hogwarts" maybe...lol...
I was both sad and glad to have finished them...as it had been a bit of a marathon read! But I will probably read them again, with my boy - when he gets a bit older.. Big Grin
No, I won't read 'Don't tell Mummy’; I haven't got it yet anyway...
So what are you reading next, then?
I am going to make a start on the 'shopaholic' series next, by Sophie Kinsella...but not all of them..just a couple for now...the first one is 'secret dreamworld'
I have a lot of Sheila O Flanagan and a couple of Jane Green books to read...and I picked up another Jill Mansell, the other day...'chick lit' really...easy reading...but fun!
I’m sorry to hear that you are not sleeping well! I do hope that you get some proper rest...

Thanks, yes...it was a bad time...my dad hadn't been ill for long either...still...better off without the suffering, eh?
It was funny a thing though...my youngest takes after my dad....with his eyes...
...my eldest boy and his father both have brown eyes (always said to be the dominant colour)...my eyes are blue/grey-green colour... (I am more of a mix of both of my parents)...but my baby boy...he has pure blue eyes...just like my dad did...
Ah! I have head cold now...trying to get over the darn thing...but my youngest has had it for most of last week and the weekend too...and I haven't been back to work this week yet...!
The weather has been a bit dull just recently...with a few snippets of sunshine here and there....
So, 7 days to go till your hols now then? Big Grin
Take care, chat soon... Hug Hug Hug

Razz Hi boysmama. You're not doing too well with your health at the moment! When my boys were small they always seemed to be picking up bugs from Play School and Infants School and usually ended up passing them on to me and occasionally my husband too! The pleasures of parenthood.
I did miss my son's dog when he went home but not as much as the previous time, as I didn't have him for so long on this occasion.
I'm reading "Marley and Me" by John Grogan at the moment. It's basically about a manic labrador/retriever puppy - again a true story - and is quite funny and light! Apparently it was a Sunday Times Bestseller but I'm not sure when. I think they're making a film of it.
Raining earlier on this morning but now it's bright sunshine again and much warmer than of late.
Must go - I have to ring the Travel Agents again as our airline tickets haven't arrived and we go in 5 days time (provided they arrive before then!)
Enjoy your day and look after yourself. Hug
